17 inch 2010 wheels

The wheels will cost you a mint, so you'd do better to think aftermarket. The LED's don't come w/ the solar roof panel. The sales packages simply aren't arranged that way, so you get one or the other, but not both together.

Sorry, we don't know the wheel weight yet for the 2010. If I were you I'd get the Volk Racing ce28 Ecodrive 16" for the gen II. I suspect they are lighter, probably won't drop the mileage, and while expensive (about $400 each), won't "break the bank" as the Toyota wheels would. There was a picture of the Volks on this board - use the search function. They are available in two colours.

 

Just curious about this activity. What was involved in upgrading your 2007 to the touring suspension? Who did it (dealer or third party) and what costs were involved?

The short of it is:

1. For the 2004 and 2005 Standard Prius, the following suspension parts are different on the Touring:

a. Front Stabilizer Bar
b. Front Struts
c. Front Springs
d. Rear Stabilizer Bar
e. Rear Shocks
f. Rear Springs

2. For the 2006 and later years Standard Prius, the Front Struts and Springs are the same as the Touring's, so only the following suspension parts are different on the Touring:

a. Front Stabilizer Bar
b. Rear Stabilizer Bar
c. Rear Shocks
d. Rear Springs

I believe they are 215/45s.

 

would you know what brand? I'll be putting on 17"(17x7.5 et 48 to be exact) wheels on my prius next month... and I don't know what brand of tires would work best for the prius (LLR tires).....

 

Go to Tirerack.com and they have excellent info on what the 'right' tires for you to upsize your Prius to 17" wheels.

 

I believe that the 17" wheels on the 2010 Prius that were at the different Prius Connection and auto shows had either Bridgestone TURANZA EL400 or Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 in the 215/45R17 size.

This does not mean that these have the lowest rolling resistance or work best with the Prius.

Also, it's not yet known what tires will actually be on the production models.

Just a clarification:

I meant to say that they showed two different tires on the 17" wheels -- the Bridgestone Turanza El-400s that are now on the Gen II Touring Edition and the Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 -- an indication and example of how they hadn't yet decided what will actually be on the production car.

Hello all,

I'm considering buying the Prius IV and adding the 17" wheels (which would mean I'd be buying them from Toyota parts). Does anyone know what this will cost?

I'm doing this because I love the look of the 17" wheels but I don't want to buy a V and pay the $4500 for the Advance Tech Package. Wondering if this is a way to get the V "look" at a lower cost.

That's exactly what I originally wanted (and still want), but my dealer tells me Toyota isn't sending any Vs with only Nav. Even the 'build your own' page on theT oyota website doesn't give you the option of just Nav.

 

Personally I'd ring the parts desk of your local Toyota dealer.

 

Look at a different region and try to build there -- enter a zip code from downtown Chicago, for instance (60601) and try a build as though you were in Illinois.

If you really want the 17" wheels, do not order a IV and add the wheels (unless you also really want the Solar Roof Package). The wheel are very expensive (as are the tires), and you also are getting the LED headlamps which are pricey. You could not buy all of these things separately for less than the MSRP change in going from a IV to a V.
