I THINK I got my 2010 confirmed!

    Just got off the phone with my local dealer and he says he has 6 2010 Prius' coming in June 3rd.

    He listed them and had a Prius IV, grey, Nav package, which is just what I wanted. It also has the mats (OK), bumper applique (OK), .& security system (just barely OK). Everything MSRP plus DMV & taxes.

    Unfortunately I will back at sea by that time for 70 days so I'm going to arrange for my son to buy the car and transfer it to me when I get back in August.

    The dealer mentioned the total MSRP at $28,???. I'll be going in this afternoon with my son to finalize the deal.

    I'm glad to be able to get it with my local Toyota dealer in Santa Barbara as it helps the area I live in rather than buy it down in LA or somewhere else.

    Here's hoping things turn out as I hope!

    Congratulations! Isn't it a wonderful thing when you can get everything you've wanted in your own neighborhood?

    Just make certain you get the final quote put into a contract with the VIN, the price and your dealer's signature. It will require $ down, but I'm assuming you're fine with that. If you aren't, then you have no guarantee the car is yours.

    Congrats!! Tell your son that part of the deal is he has to post photos here!! I'm not dehydrated from all the drooling yet!!

    Yay! I'm hoping that if you are getting a car in SB, maybe my car came on the same ship to Long Beach and I'll be getting my car in SD soon too! Do you know if the ship was called Century Highway No. 2?

    I don't know the name of the ship but when my son & I go to the dealer tonight I'll ask.

    No VIN number yet but no money hasn't changed hands yet and won't until everything looks good. My son is better at these things than I am so I'm not worried.

    It looks like the MSRP price with extras & DPH ($750) will be $28,978. Plus gov fees.

    That's a lot less then I thought I would be paying a few short months ago. I guessed that my new Prius would be up in the 30's.

    It's on the INDIANA HIGHWAY. I've attached some info.

    Total cost with tax, license, etc. was $31,980.14.

    They say the car will be in Santa Barbara around June 3. Unfortunately I will be on my ship on my way to China.

    I didn't think I would get the car I wanted as soon as I did. Just lucky I guess.:)

    Thanks! I just checked and it looked like INDIANA HIGHWAY had been docked at Long Beach since 4/30 but has just left the harbor for Japan. CENTURY HIGHWAY NO.2 had been anchored at Long Beach since 5/22 and has also just left the harbor for Japan.

    I wonder how long they take to sort out all the cars to get them out to the dealerships....

    I just tracked the Indiana Highway (the ship delivering my Prius IV) and it looks like it docked in LA yesterday afternoon.! :D
