now that i have another day on the Pri, i guess i gotta lemon. touch screen does not always show all the options being available all the time.

today, i thought i would try programing a few speed dials on my phone and was talking to someone. well opened the phone option hit the speed dial and was going to program it in, turned to say something to the person i was with, turned back less than a minute later and all the speed dials were grayed out. went back and forth a few times, nothing.

then went to general setup screen and phone, Navi and Voice were grayed out. now this happened to me a few times yesterday and sometimes if i leave it on the setup screen long enough, all the buttons become active...

also EV max speed seems to be around 25 mph and it really kicks out much easier than the Classics did.

so will be calling dealer tomorrow. as far as a few other things,

    1) how do i program to make all doors unlock?
    2) how do i turn off reverse beeper?

Definitely let us know what the programming sequence is for those two items. I would be interested in knowing this as well!

    1) door locking & unlocking settings are described in the owners manual
    2) reverse beep (and seat belt chime) need to be done by dealer

The owners manual says for reverse warning buzzer, default is beeps repeatedly, and customized setting is beeps once. For seat belt reminder, default is ON, and customized is OFF.

Starting on p. 579 of the owners manual it has several pages of features that can be customized, but says that "specialized equipment" at the dealership is required. Having said that, HTMLSpinnr pointed out in another thread that you can change the door lock control settings yourself (instructions in owners manual), so hopefully there's a way to do these as well.

Let us know if you find a way--I'll be picking up my car in a week or so, and at this point am assuming I need to ask the dealer to do this, but would be happy to do it myself.

Perhaps one of us will have to use that darned search function soon.

As I recall, if you hold down the lock and emergency buttons at the same time, you'll trigger either the alarm system or the way to change the unlock trigger. I think it sequences through Driver's side only, All Doors and None, but you need to know how many beeps means which one. Well, either that or guess!

EDIT: OK -- I found my own post that has a detailed description. See new post below for the link.

Correct--using the key fob you can program whether you want all doors to unlock, or just the driver's door, and the owner's manual contains those instructions.

The door lock control settings that I was referring to (that HTMLSpinnr pointed out in another thread can be changed by the owner) relate to the doors automatically locking/unlocking, based on shifter position or vehicle speed (instructions also in owner's manual).

Found it! Here is a link to an earlier post in which I described the correct procedure for changing how the SKS unlocks the doors. Also, attached to that post is a copy of the page from the owner's manual.

Dave, glad to know that you've found what does and doesn't work while in motion. Toyota's lawyers trying to keep us safe :(

Those same lawyers will already have recorded his statement as an admission against his own interest. Too bad, Dave. When you're forced to sell it all (to pay for the big judgment), can I get a good deal on your 2010?

Thought it was 1013. Either way, pretty low. ;-)
