Hi Everyone, first time poster long time lurker. Does anyone know about an expected delivery date/price/options package for the UK 2010 Prius? Over here the 2010 model is called the 2009 model and the 2009 model is the 2008 model so it's difficult to google for results. My local Toyota dealership has no idea, first they said May, then June, now July. The toyota.co.uk gives very little info. Over here of course we have the T3, T4 and TSpirit, does anyone know what will be included in these? Maybe our Dutch posters have an equivalent system? Thanks for all your help!
Hello Hello, what kind of brochure? One of those 'Prius is good for the environment' glossies or a real book with some dirt on the new models? Is there anything interesting inside about the T packages? Leather Seats?
It was just a repackaged 'what car' article on the new Prius and compared it with the current one and other similar cars ( similar according to what car) Warts and all it didnt come out too bad - which I guess is why Toyota have turned into marketing brochure
:welcome: Nice to see someone else from the UK on here. All the information you seek (apart from the damn prices) is on the UK Toyota Site under "The Next Prius" section (see screen grab). At the bottom of the screen in the left hand corner there are three models listed "T3, T4, TSpirit" - click on one of these and the main features of each model are listed in the main window above. If you want to Google for stuff relating to the UK model it's being referred to as the "3rd Gen Prius" rather than the "2010 Prius" as it's called in the USA. Trust me though I check daily for snippets of news, and there's f**k all ! I spoke to Toyota Head Office this week and prices will be announced 2 weeks before it goes on sale - and the magic date for that is approx 1st week of July.
Not just the UK Tone, I'm in Norwich too! Did you pick up your '06 from Dingles? They seemed nice when I was looking at the '09 but the salesman couldn't have been more than 21! I saw the T-Spirit section, but I was wondering about features like Lane Keep Assist and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and the 'start heating the car via remote' function and lumbar support etc. I'll take your word for the lack of information on-line, it's scant out there! Thanks for letting me know about the mid-June pricing though, and the 1st week of July date makes sense but it's so damn far away!
Autocar say that the Gen 3 is launched in June (i.e. when prices are announced and the car will appear in the UK motoring press with test drives etc). However the Toyota website (on a news page now removed) did say the car would be available in July. So this totally agrees with the above information. I'm sure UK cars will get most of the goodies available. Certainly top line Gen 2 UK cars have the Parking assist installed as per the Japanese cars which the current US cars dont have.
OMG! It's a small world Yep I got mine from Dingles - they are very good (especially if you get the right sales person.) Dan B & Sam W are the two peeps I normally deal with, Dan will sort out the sales side, and Sam will sort out the finance side. They are very patient - I've been supplying them with info since last year on the 3rd Gen, and they are often amazed (and a little frustrated) that we can find stuff out before they do! If I get any new info I'll send you a message on here to keep you updated.
Hey Wooski, have you seen Envy Motors in London? They claim they're going to have the very first 3rd gen Prius to test drive and sell. I don't know if I'd pay the £500 refundable deposit though...
Smart cars - Smart LPG, Electric Bikes and Hybrid Cars - Envy Motors Limited Not sure I like their website that much - but no I hadn't seen. I'm sure Toyota UK will not want to piss off their main London dealers (especially Jemca who have 2 London sales sites near Seven Sisters & Battersea). London is a very important market for them as the car can be registered to be exempt from the congestion charge.
Oh yeah I'd like to do that, is registering congestion charge exemptions complicated? I'm hoping I can just download an application form and post it off but I get the feeling it's going to be much more painful. At least registration is free, right?
Relatively simple, but not free You need to fill out a form from Transport for London: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/CC-discount-alternative-fuel.pdf.pdf You need the exemption certificate from Toyota: http://www.toyota.co.uk/bv/1024-images/prius/Congestion Charging Exemption Certificate.pdf Copy of your registration document from the DVLA (V5C) And a cheque for £10 (for one year's exemption) When that runs out - you have to renew your exemption again. I never bothered to do mine as I only ever drive through Central London at weekends - and C Charge is not valid then anyway :cheer2:
Yes you have to register. The camera's wont recognise a Prius and not charge you! £10 a year is ALOT cheaper than the £40 a week it would normally cost to drive into the zone. Also a lot of councils grant free resident parking to cars under 100g CO2 (like mine - Islington). Start adding it all up and you can make big savings before you even go near a petrol pump.
Some bad news: I picked up a 3rd gen brochure (it was very similar to the pdf of the European brochure)from Dingle's and on the cover it just said (in very big letters): 1.08.09 Bummer.
But if it's any consolation, the HUD comes as standard on all models, it actually projects a color (or at least two tone) map on to the windscreen for nav. Score! The brochure doesn't mention Dynamic Radar Cruise Control or LKA at all, which I thought was weird since they even spoke about the sunroof as an option. Maybe they're so expensive that they don't wanna scare us away
Fear not my friends - I've been told they are trying to bring the date forward. I'll scan and PDF the brochure if anyone is interested
My local dealer knew nothing when I called in on Sunday. I really hope we get the dynamic cruise option - that's an option I'm very interested in. I'd be very surprised if we didn't.
I would be interested in the brochure please, when you mean bring the date forward, when are we talking? Also where did you get that info?
