I have a question for you winebuff. Can you take some high res. pictures of the interior? I had the old prius for some days and really hated the interior. Im used to my lovely Audi and the interior in german cars is beautiful. The 2008 Prius was horrible Alot of hard plastic and no charm at all... So please tell me...how is the new Prius inside compare to the old prius and other cars?
I haven't seen the 2010 Prius in person yet, but if you compare almost any car to Audi's interior--which is widely considered to be the industry benchmark--you're going to be disappointed.
I have tried the new Rav4, Avensis and the Land Cruiser and these cars has a nice interior. The Prius did not have the same quality...something to compare it to had been nice
I picked up my 2010 Prius on Saturday, May 16th. It was a total surprise. I'd called the dealer (Toyota in Beaverton) the day before and expressed interest in a Package IV or V in Blizzard Pearl. The dealer called me early Saturday when two cars rolled on to their lot-- a III in pearl, and a IV in black. I initially wanted leather, but a quick test drive in the III convinced me that cloth was just fine. As I wrote the check and signed the papers, two other people tried to buy the car. This is my first hybrid. I've put about 100 miles on it since Saturday afternoon, and according to the dashboard, I'm getting about 42 MPG on average. I navigated here to Priuschat to learn how to do better.
You aren't the only one surprised!! Welcome to PriusChat and Congrats on your new 2010!! As you read on and learn more about the Prius, you'll also find out there are plenty of us grinding out teeth, wondering when we'll get the car we've been waiting on for many, many months. So . . . don't take offense at our envy.

After I found this forum this morning, I went out for a long drive on the freeway and then through the city streets downtown. I practiced some of the tips I found (especially using a lighter foot on the accelerator and coasting more when possible) and pulled my fuel economy up to 54.4 MPG! Since I have fewer than five posts, I can't seem to post a picture. I will post the full size picture (there's a small one as my avatar) as soon as I can. I adore this car already.

LOL, that Is Max. He is lab with a little chow so he has a purple tongue. I just tell people he has Cabernet in his water bowl
The one little thing and not a big deal at all, they removed the sunglass carrier on the ceiling by the light in front. Not a big deal. I drove to my office today which is almost 40 miles away and got close to 70-75, swear. Average though today was about 55 give or take.
No, it is sooo much better. I upgraded to leather and the interior feels like a luxury car now. It is very roomy but feels very decadent.
