I'm getting the 17" on mine and don't really like the design of the 15". However I have a set of new 17" from a previous Scion Tc my son had. I've been looking at spec's on the wheel and it appears they may work on the Prius. If they do I may mount my tires there and use the original 17" for snow tires. (Or visa versa). I like the Tc wheel design. You can pick up a set on ebay reasonable from time to time.

I believe those Scion wheels will work, though I've heard they are quite heavy. I'd be very interested to find out how the Scion wheels compare to the new Prius 2010 17" wheels. Does anyone have the specs?

One thing to keep in mind is that this is not just a straight swap out, as there are some other changes under the hood for these wheels. I do not recall the specifics, but on other threads here it is discussed. Also, this will change the final steering turn-to-turn of the wheel, so there are changes there as well.

I also recall hearing that if you have the Prius V (Which I finally ordered on Saturday - Thanks Jabber), you could swap out for the 15" with no additional changes, but the other way required a bunch of changes.

I don't recall what "under the hood" changes may be required, but I think in this particular instance the post was about using the Scion wheels as a second set of 17" wheels on a Prius V. I believe the Scion set up was the same as the Prius, but it would be a good idea to have that confirmed!

Congrats!! Glad to hear you've worked this out with Jabber. Let us know the anticipated date. I'll have mine fairly soon, so perhaps I should arrange to meet you and Jabber up in Crystal Lake?

Here, there Prius team explains the differences between 17" and 15" wheels. This post should help explain why you cannot simply swap out the 15"s from Prius II through IV for those on the V with some modifications:

I hope this post helps prevent someone from trying to simply swap 15s for 17s without thinking it through...

You are very welcome EGL. Thanks for your business and I enjoyed meeting you. I'll keep you posted all along the way as I check dealer daily about 6 times an hour.

I don't see the connection you are making with their comments. Just because the 17" package has modifications to the turning radius and some different hardware doesn't necessarily mean the wheels won't fit on other levels of Prius. You just won't have the tighter steering and benefits that come with the package.

What can happen is that the 17" is actually a wider tire. It may have clearance issues when turning lock to lock with the inside wheel well.

I know what you are saying, but I have seen several threads here, including the one from the Prius Team, indicating that this is not a simple wheel change, when going 15 to 17. The opposite (17 to 15) is not an issue by anyone's posts here, but several had said that there are technical limitations.

Can anyone with access to the technical specs comment here? I would hate to have someone damage their new baby while intending to improve it. That would be a pity.

The only restriction would be the steering bump stops AFAIK. Putting the 17"s on a 15" car may cause wheel well rubbing at the std lock point. You'll also have a different steering motor - possibly less robust (wider tires require more/different steering effort), so the feeling may not be identical to a "stock" Prius V.
