Got my first Prius (Touring #6 w/XM) to replace my totaled Ford Five Hundred (that actually got 30 MPG on the highway with AWD to boot! )

It's Driftwood Pearl. First 5 days I'm getting 43+ MPG.

Hey, I have only owned my 2009 Prius for 12 hours. Don't know anything yet, other than everyone saying to me...why didn't you wait and get a 2010. Previous BMW Z-4. so I am a TOTAL newbie to this car!

I didn't know that we had any virgins on PriusChat. Most of the members look like they have been around the block a time or two. :)

I don't know, Tom. Some of you are rather homely. I always suspected.

Anyway, Welcome to Priuschat and Prius ownership, raholco! :welcome:
There's tons of info tucked away here. I hope you have a comfortable chair. Here's a tip I give to now members from time to time. Click the link at the very bottom of this page called [Archive]. That will take you a text-only version of the forum. This makes it easier to skim topics.

Enjoy your Prius. You'll never see 30mpg again.

    Enjoy!

Another Prius virgin here (despite my haggard looks). This is a great place to learn about your new car, its technology, the people who drive Prii and much more. Thanks, everyone!

I just got the same car as you, but in Spectra Blue Mica (minus the XM). Only two weeks old, and I'm loving it!

Wow, they have liberal driver's license laws in your state! And you're quite literate for only 2 weeks old! :D:bounce::pound:

Welcome, newbies! Be sure to use the search feature for any and all Prius questions - just about anything you can imagine has been discussed, covered, explained, demonstrated or bashed on this forum!

The title also got me wondering too. If the OP meant if the car is virgin or the driver. :D

I think the car is virgin because the cap hasn't been pop and the pump inserted into the hole yet. Yes, I am describing filling up the gas tank.

You mean, "rode hard & put away wet"?
    Too long in jail?
For short I just say "haggard".

but hey! . . . don't worry about your mpg's ... they'll come up, as you read about all the tricks and traps. We rented a 500 last summer and it's not a bad ride. It & the prius are 2 different animals. And THEN, there's the 2010

You sure throw the 'people' term around liberally
I almost feel honored to be accidentally numbered among people.
