I haven't done anything yet. I've got the part number at home. I'll grab it at lunch, maybe that will help you.

Has anyone used the two stiff gray pieces with the peel-and-stick white plastic sheet on the back? I think I figured out what they're for - they appear to be shaped to fit over the leather, hog-rings and seat frame metal under the carpet on the back seat backs. I suppose this is to provide some carpet padding and keep sharp things from poking through the carpet (not to mention it will probably level out the "floor" under the carpet when the seats are down). I need to pick up replacement buttons for the carpet. When I do I will flip the carpet back and stick these down, then secure the carpet and report back.

EDIT: It turns out they stick to the back of the csarpet. I took pics and will post them later.

    Cheap Clips!

If you have a NAPA parts store handy, I found the perfect clips for the carpet in the cargo area. Part number 665-1000 Balkamp brand. These look like Chrysler clips but look identical from the outside. They push in with light thumb pressure but need a tool to remove. And they are re-useable (they get a bit mangled, but nothing like the stock clips if you remove them). They come 14 to a bag for less than $5 - 2 bags will do the entire seat backs with some to spare, and for less than $10.

I finished the last passenger seat and looked at the pieces that are left. It looks like four rectangular pieces are for the door armrest? Those won't be as easy to install as the Prius Hood. Prius Hood leather had the corners stitched already.

I am so tired but it has been an interesting and fun project. I get to see how the seats are made.

Only reason I took pics was if I couldn't remember how it went on....

If you were to do it again with your current knowledge, will you be able to do it without breaking a clip?

Those will be the last pieces I will do after some break. :)

Maybe if you have more finesse than me.... perhaps.

You've got to understand, that I actually used an the proper tool to remove the carpet clips and STILL broke half of them. I was too tired, and too frustrated to worry about the stupid round clips. Used and box cutter and mangled the hell out of them....

Maybe you're a better man than me... but in the end, it worked out just fine.

After reading the frustrations involved, I gave my professional $350 and he said it took about 8 hours plus an hour each for out and in. it's perfect. He resewed the pieces with the missing wires and said he didn't suffer any cuts???
I don't think the pictures showing which pieces are leather are nearly accurate. Much more vinyl than shown. Regardless it looks great.
    Best of luck.

Definitely worth $350. However, just the cost of the leather has been an issue with my wife so I couldn't spend another dime on this. Plus I would have missed out on all this FUN!

Did he do the door armrest and the small area near battery vent (between seat and door)?

I believe that $350 & $450 for labor is on the low side.

I thought I've read some PriusChatters post that they were charged upwards of $1000 for labor.

I was originally quoted for $1450.00 but that included same leather kit from Bartlett corp... I told him that I already had the leather kit from Bartlett corp which supprised him(he said that he can't buy from Bartlett anymore??).. He then lowered the price to $450.00. So, this leather kit costs $1000.00 if purchased from locally..... We made out great!!!!
