That is so sad... and what a waste. :(

They make a reference to "Green Cars" then behave like stone age Neanderthals.

    Cheers;

I wonder which car will last longer? Or be cheaper to repair? Or has lower emissions?

And the way those bar graphs were presented was totally bogus. Why not show only the last tiny bit, giving the false impression that one is two or three times better than the other?

You got that right ..... !

burnout?! Get your fahrfegnugen butts out of town !

(If I'd try "burnout" in my kayak, I'd be a cartoon character with xylophones playing in the background -- such is my opinion of burnouters)

I was wondering how long it would take for someone one PriusChat to find VW's new TDItruthanddare.com website.

That is what I look for in any new vehicle - the ability to ruin the tires by performing burnouts.

Compare the old Prius to the new Jetta manual. That alone is just plain wrong. Of course, not switching drivers and rerunning the tests again wrecks any chance of objectivity anyway.

The burning of rubber is just silly. Why would you intentionally want to damage the tires like that? But then again, many new technologies provide ways of preventing that. So, Prius actually won.

Prius wins by a landslide for being green as well. It provides better MPG and a much lower emission rating.

I don't know, but I have a suggestion for a Prius vs. Jetta test:

Both cars are each placed in a shipping container which is sealed. The cars must be ready to drive with the driver in the driver's seat. After 30 minutes, both containers are opened and the first driver to drive out of the container is the winner.

    LOL.

Anyone with a manual transmission and TCS OFF/ESP OFF button can do a burnout.

I never knew anyone bought a Prius expecting a performance car, do they? I thought the Prius was about the highest mileage possible, very low emissions and Toyota reliability (VW reliability, really?). I suppose you're also going to tell me a Hummer is a better offroad vehicle than a Prius next...

    Hi All,

I am supprised the Prius did so well in those tests. The Jetta is a well known handling car. The Prius is a general purpose city/suburban mileage star. But, the Prius did within .02 in the lateral g's test. Of course the Prius cannot do a burn-out, as the traction control wont let it. The Jetta must have a TC disable switch.

Also saying that both cars do over 40 mpg on the highway , is like comparing a Jetta to a F150 and saying both vehicles do over 20 mpg on the highway.

What was not shown was after the test. All the beer being carried in the Prius was pulled out to celebrate the Jetta success.

OH, It's futon torpedos?! Now I'll have to rewatch all those Star Trek episodes now that I have the terminology right.

What a stupid video. For the Jetta to be only somewhat ahead of the Prius on tests suggests the Jetta really sucks. Also, what's the point of "burning out" on a fwd with handbrake applied? Does that kind of limp muscle really attract chicks? No thanks...I'll stick with the Prius hybrid and its humble miserly reliable ways.
