From what I read in the chat, there will be upgrades that are standard come September.. so if one can wait, shouldn't they? I don't know how long the waiting list will be come September though... What is everyones thoughts?
This might help answer your question: http://priuschat.com/forums/2010-to...d-early-buyers-have-pay-usb-heres-answer.html
Doesn't matter since they will be available to the early buyers (except Safety Connect which is hardwired and won't be installed on early vehicles).
On the one hand it seems better to wait if you can, save a bit more money for the down payment or pay cash, etc... but it's also a bit of a gamble. The 2010's should be plentiful within a couple of months, but if the price of gas was to skyrocket again, you'd potentially be on a 100+ deep waiting list.
I also would have the concern that only us PriusChatters will be competing for them initially. I haven't seen much "commercial" advertising. I think once thesebabies hit the streets, many more people will want one. Dealer gouging may happen later rather than now.
I think Dealer gouging at over MSRP (at least in California ) will be there from the start of 2010 delivery. Remember- limited stock at first, hard to get new features such as moonroof...
It's ridiculous to raise the price for a part that only costs $5 to make but I'd rather wait I think. Still not sure
That's true. Save myself some trips. I'll probably go to a dealer during the summer to put a deposit, etc... saying I want to wait until Septembers release.. By mid July they should have the new pricing and whatnot to include the iPod. I can't live without the iPod in my car as I never listen to the radio. Seeing that there will also be a remote start is sweet as I have no choice but to park outside all winter. Hopefully I can get that installed out of the box.
I sold my motorcycle yesterday. cash payment.. putting it right into savings. It's almost Prius time!! I'll stop by the dealership to speak with them soon!
