Most Boring Thread

Speaking of which, my hand sawing skills have not improved since I built those lopsided bookshelves described in Post #3.

Recently, I pulled a door off of a discarded wardrobe closet to use as a desktop. I used a handsaw to saw a few inches off the door. And just like with those bookshelves I built years ago, I had a lot of trouble sawing a 90 degree line. With each push and pull of the handsaw, the cutting line would veer off the intended angle.

In other news, this is what I did on the first day of Spring:

I went to the premier of HT Chen & Dancers' new piece at a Chinatown middle school:

And she stayed afterwards to speak with some of the kids:



Then I splurged and spent $3.75 for lunch -- Beef with Bitter Melon in Black Bean Sauce over Rice, with bowl of soup & cup of tea -- delicious:



On the way home, I passed a Salsa Red Prius by the Essex Street Market:



Not to mention, a statute of Lenin on the rooftop of an apartment building:



When I got home, I tended to my humble Victory Garden -- red thyme, golden thyme, sage, rosemary:

 

Tom.............what a day and what a view!! That's one of the benefits of living in a "city that never sleeps." Your victory garden is wonderful....I love fresh herbs so I would have to steal some from you!!

I am headed to New Orleans to pick up a friend at the airport and then back to Baton Rouge. "Eleanor" will get another road trip today. It's 80 miles one way so I should get some good mpg's.

Then headed tonight to the second round of the NCAA women's basketball tournament at the PMAC on campus. LSU ladies play Louisville. It should be a great game; the students are being offered free tickets by various other athletic departments so it will be a wild, wonderful experience!! I can't wait; I love their energy.........and all their crazy cheers!!

It's 5am, and I think I'll go back to bed. I'm doing mega C protocol trying to get rid of a bout of sinus stuff, and I keep sneezing.

 

Does anyone know of any interesting things to see or do near Cadiz, Kentucky in August that don't involve fishing, boating, hiking, biking, or golfing?

 

Playing a duet of "Deliverance" on a pair of banjos?

 

Now that is fun, I don't care who you are. That was a great movie ; I don't usually like love stories. You could go see some of the race horse things.

This is now our third night of rain/thunderstorms/tornado warnings. We have had almost 6 inches of rain and we are saturated around here. Tuesday night's weather brought some damage to the LSU campus which is only about 10 minutes from here. We really needed the rain...........but not this much!! Hopefully the front will pass tomorrow and it will clear out.....

 

That was NOT my son. I don't care for most love stories either but now you've got me thinking I should rent this one or bring it to the reunion. Maybe we can talk a nephew into doing some fiddlin', poke a pieceof hay between the teeth, brew a little moonshine and be hillbillies for a day. Does the Suzuki method for violin include bluegrass lessons?

 

I guess I win the prize for most boring post since no one has replied for two weeks.

Tasteless implies bland. Bland is almost synonymous with boring, sort of.
