very sorry about your car, thank god your family is A-OK!

now, on the train versus the cow, was i the only one disturbed about the amount of pollutants expelled into the atmosphere by the train??????

Those aren't pollutants. Just ask the guys over on the Jetta TDI forum.

I'm sure a lot of the hillbilly diesel fanboys would want us to return to the days of choo-choos. I'd strongly encourage them to wait at an overpass and inhale deeply everytime the choo choo went by

The pics don't show it but the inverter is shoved back and twisted a bit. The car sort of inhaled the deer aimed straight at the inverter.

The Mother of All Deer Collisions happened on the autobahn at 140 mph. The deer could not be found until . . .

Cool ... I wonder if the motor also partially cooked the carcass? I like to pull over once in awhile to nibble on a snack ...

I actually make my own brew. Molassas, corn syrup, olive oil, lots and lots of garlic and onions, and peppercorns.

    Yum! An excellent marinade too

I hit a deer on the New York State thruway the day before last Thanksgiving while driving from Buffalo, NY to New York City. (I was stuck in a hotel room on Thanksgiving.) I needed about $8,000 in repairs, but Progressive was actually pretty helpful in finding a good body shop that patched my car up like new. (Except that they somehow managed to reverse the front and rear windshield washer controls.)

I must have been doing about 75mph. I've attached some pictures. I was sure my car was a goner.

Kind of neat how deer parts are stuck to the Prius

Seems like maybe we need a bit more protection up front! Pointier front rather than the flatter 2010 redesign. Toss those deer off to the side. At the very least, a bit more structure around expensive things like the inverter.

Maybe an off-road bumper, like this one

    PB-Car-Crown-Victoria

Hmmmm, nothing listed for the Prius. Maybe if we convince them we could have a group buy lined up, they'd make one just for the Prius.

That wrap-around push bumper would also come in handy to mount those deer whistles, to warn blind pedestrians
