Here are my (possibly) sill questions:

    1) Is there any difficulty running a Prius through a car wash? I wonder specifically about the antenna on the roof of my car...

    2) Can you put a bike rack on a Prius? I've either heard or read that you should not...

    Many thanks!

No problem with a car wash, the antenna on the roof can be easily unscrewed. Some car washes tape down the rear window wiper but I ran through several times w/o it taped down and never had a problem.

Here's a thread with pictures of a prius with a bike rack mentioning the brand: http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-m...bum-hitch-bike-carrier-racks-cargo-boxes.html

The rear wiper is designed not to lift in a car wash.
As said earlier, unscrew the antenna or get a shark fin.
You can fit a bike rack but it will impact mileage. Either a receiver type or the type that fits the hatch.

I had no idea the antena could be unscrewed. I went to a car wash a few times and I came out fine.

This is true but I did the 'mod' of removing the tab which allows the rear wiper to be fully lifted because it makes hand washing much more convienent which I do 99 percent of the time... And even with the tab removed I still never had a problem in the car wash...

I think the issue with the antena would be whether you are going through a touch less car wash vs a car wash that uses brushes and a leather strips.(removal recommended for the latter?)

During the winter here when it is just too cold to handwash the one I use has those cloth like strips that hang and move back and forth and I've never had a problem (and I dont remove it unless they do it which is not often).

Are we talking about the roof antenna that comes on a package 6? I've never removed mine for a drive through slap and blow, and it hasn't been a problem.
