    Hi all,

It was nice meeting some of you at the NYC event last night.
    I had a great time!!

Kodos to Toyota North American for putting on a great show.

Natae of Toyota university was very knowledgable. I talked her ear off!:D
Thanks for being patient. and don't forget those unanswered questions. (See below):D

Brian of TNA NYC region. It was great talking to you.

    anyway..
I know one of the questions from the board was, is there going to be a low washer fluid light. No.. no washer fluid light..
and.. upon closer inspection. The washer fluid resivior is not visible anymore. it is hidden in the passenger front side of the engine compartment. Well.. how do you know how much fluid is in there.. there is a yellow washerfluid dipstick!.. yes another dipstick to check. One of the other prius chat members has a picture of me holding it. (sorry.. I forgot your name). If you see this post.. please feel free to add it on here.

What else.. some other questions that where left unanswered.

The trip odo with the little prius next to the gas pump indicator. we here on prius chat think it is the DTE (distance to tank empty). I ask Natae to confirm.. she will let us know.

What oil are they going to use.. Synthetic or regular?

Well.. no slot to put your key FOB in.. Well.. what happens when your transmitter dies? are you stuck?

There are a few more.. just don't remember them right now..

    Other thoughts..
They are defenitly better in person.. the cars that is.. (more on Stephanie and Neely later )
Very confortable to sit in. plenty of room still.
Will have to get used to the center console idea.
The only bad thing I saw with that, was where they put the buttone for the heated seats option. under this new console.. very hard to reach.
Other than that. the console seems pretty functional.
    Love the new shifter...
Played with the nav for awhile.. seems pretty good.
love the sun roof and the solar panels..
just wish you could get it on the high end model..:( (you can't!!. for you Mark)
Sound on the JBL stereo sounded OK.. have heard better.
Can't wait to try the LKA and the radar cruise.
Oh.. the headlight washer... cool.. (sorry about the mess last night Toyota :D)
What else.. trunk space more than adequate.
Got a peak at the battery compartment. They rerouted the ventalation system. it was kinda neat how they did it.. but.. looks like the 12V was vented to the passenger compartment as well? anybody else notice that?

That is all for now.. when I remember more.. I will post back.

    Scott

We've confirmed this using different means.[/quote]

Wave the FOB over the power button and the passive RF is read vs. SKS.

Hi Scott, It was nice meeting you and Michelle Vanb . . . last night as well as all the competent Toyota Reps. You are right that this group has grown just a little bit since I last visited in Jan., 2004. I have been relying on the various Prius Yahoo Groups and this one is a welcome addition. It was nice to touch and feel the cars. Who knows, mabye the 3 G will finally tempt me to sell mine.

Did you find out if fog lamps will finally be offered with the gold package with the solar moonroof? I want to order one, but must have fog lamps with the moonroof.

Why don't you just add it on yourself if it doesn't come with it? It's likely it'll be packaged with the LED headlights (not sure why since they won't need the fogs).

Did anyone who went to the NYC ask about that weird... icon found on the Past Record and the Hybrid System Indicator? It's a horizontal icon that's slanted at each ends to form a parallelogram (sorta).

Doe not look like it... it was the foglamps and 17" rims that you could not get with the Solar roof..
Some lame excuse about weight.. if I remember correctly.

    Scott,

That was me who took the picture, and here it is!
I'll sort through all the pictures I took and post them somewhere, and post another message with the link.

    It was a great event!

I've been meaning to post into this thread, but I've been swamped with work and family.

The event was very cool, and I was happy to meet some of the other folks on PriusChat...a bunch of good guys, to be sure! It was also neat to see the big screen with a number of quotes from folks on the forum.

The food was really good, and of course, getting a lot of time actually in the Prius was very helpful. The on-site Toyota staff was really helpful, too. I got a lot of good info from Natae, Brian and Tim, and I felt all my questions were answered very well. Natae, in particular, was very well versed in everything Prius.

So, if there's a "negative" to be mentioned, I think it's that I thought there would be more to the event. I guess I had been expecting a more detailed presentation of some sort to the crowd; perhaps some additional overview, or whatever. I kept waiting for that, and about an hour into the event, I realized that the meet-and-greet/Q&A plus hands on time with the cars was the event. To be sure, it was all great, but I felt like something was missing.

Anyway, I've personally made up my mind that if I can "only" get the gold package, I would do that and live without the other tech items. I do agree that the 15" plastic rims don't look that wonderful, and I'd prefer the 17" alloy, but I can always go aftermarket for that.

Once again, thanks to Toyota and PriusChat for making this all happen. I've been droning on-and-on about the event and, of course, the 2010 Prius to pretty much everyone I know (which I guess was part of the purpose of an event like this)!
