We have a lot of elderly people in the area, both residents and tourists. I once had an elderly man run a stop sign, causing me to slam on the brakes to keep from hitting him. After he ran the sign, he got out and yelled at me for not stopping: "YOU HAVE A STOP SIGN! YOU HAVE TO STOP!" The stop sign was in his direction, not mine. What are you going to do?

So his choice of cars, a Prius, must be an element of the crime for which he was charged....
Seriously, anger management, jail (many showers with Bubba where Prius driver drops the soap), probation, restitution, etc. to help this idiot learn how to behave in society like an adult and not want to re-offend. Sheesh!

    You have my sympathies

Yell a comment that rhymes with "duck shoe" and then wipe the event from your mind?

In Boston, only the locals know which lane leads to which exit.
Out of towners will have to pray that you are on the right lane, otherwise you have to cut across three lanes like playing the Boston chicken game.

You can't blame the old guy, he is just doing the lane squeezing.:)
BTW, I have a book called" How to drive in Boston".

Would not it be easier and more convenient for everyone to simply move over and let the tailgater pass? Blocking the traffic is not any more reasonable than tailgating...

People do crazy things when they get behind the wheel of a car. It's as if their personal space is magnified to all of the road around them. I find several of these responses scary. I won't say which, so if the shoe fits...

I don't have any issue with other drivers. I also live in WV and am surrounded by rednecks so you would think it would be a daily occurance. Must be that NRA sticker on the back of my car.:laser:

I ride the right lane doing 5 over. They come right up behind me when they can easily pass. They honk, flash bright lights and tailgate. If I tap the brakes or slow down they stay there. Eventually they'll pass, several times they've used the right shoulder. What ungodly reason do people need to be driving 90 mph or more in a 55 zone? And so what if I'm driving the speed limit or not. There are two or more lanes you can use. Just move over before you get on me. Is that too much to ask? Oh and tailgating is illegal. Driving 45 - 55 in a 55 mph zone is legal.

If I drive exactly the same way in my Ram, I get no tailgating or being cutoff whatsoever.

Yeah, that's why you always see Prius out there all banged up and looking like pickup trucks.

I thought the standard MO for a Prius driver was to have his lawyer get out and beat up the other driver. We have people to do these sort of things.

This morning, on the way to work, 5:30 AM -4 degrees out, light snow. Roads coveres with snow and I caught up to a tractor trailer going 45-50. I can wait, too slippery to pass. 4 vehicles had to pass the both of us on this 2 lane road where you cannot even see if it is a passing area or not due to the snow covering. Every one of them fish tailed, and I backed off waiting for them to spin into the side of the tractor trailer.

I knew the road conditions, left early.
I cannot imagine what would be so important to risk life and limb to pass under these conditions..............
    but they do anyways............

Darwin's Law in action. The real numnuts manage to remove themselves from the genepool before they can breed and make more of them. Too bad that couldn't happen more often

This 70 year old guy probably did not even know he was cutting off this prius nutcase! How you can beat up on a 70 yo guy?

As far as everyone being so scared of driving a prius and getting abused, you DO have a constitutional right to bear arms to protect your life. Get a concealed carry permit (if you are in a gun control state), buy a 9 mm sig arms or glock pistol, and defend youself if need be. You do not have to be afraid for your life from some nut job in a F350 taking you out. Learn how to defend yourself! It is your right to do so.

obviously you do not feel threatened while driving a prius. My comment was instead directed at the women, minorities, handicaped, or for that matter anyone who feels threatened by others on the road or in the neighborhood that they have to drive through or park in. If you do not care about fear of others, and can sleep with that, fine. I, for one, feel they should have the right to defend themselves in these situations. For example, this whole thread would have had a different tone if the 70 year old man who was subjected to a felony beating had the ability to defend himself.

An example of the fear some are forced to live with:

    Why would anyone?

What would the tone of the thread have been had the Prius driver been armed?
A society without fear, that's where I live, a society full of fear also seems to have lots of people in it with guns. Coincidence?

Yeah your right, no point banning guns from a housing estate, you have to ban then from the country.

We might agree to disagree, I'm very happy living without guns, I have an enforcement job, I have never fired a gun or carried a gun and I look forward to a long happy life.

Sorry this thread has gone off topic.

Actually, the only way gun control works is if you apply it like Singapore does. That also applies to the "war on drugs" which is another joke.

We have a real problem here with youths carrying guns in gangs, and especially on native reserves the incidence of firearms possession and violence is quite high

A country with a very high incidence of firearms violence is Brasil. If you happen to pick up the special edition of City of God (Cidade de Deus), the bonus documentary focuses on gangs, corruption, and drugs in Rio

An interesting point made by the police chief of Rio is that the police have to use weapons not used by any other regular police in the world, in terms of armor piercing and sophistication. For example, the BOPE special police force uses squad automatic weapons to lay down supressing fire when entering a slum or "favela"

The police chief pointed out that companies like Sig of Switzerland, Glock of Austria, and Colt in the US have no problem supplying the guns to the gangs in Brasil. It's all about the money

Found W. C Fields clips of the road rage episode on youtube , of which I enjoyed.

The first episode is the setup, the auto section really starts around 2:48

The second episode is one they go hunting for revenge.
