its led light that lights up (not too bright) the area around shifter... all lexuses have something like that, and few premium toyotas too.

    yep, radar cruise control :).

It will probably be same system as in new Avensis - radar cruise control, line keep system, and pre-crash system all in one. Precrash is required from 2009 for car in EuroNCAP to get 5 stars.

Then we can assume that Nav will be the same too with 10 GB HDD and Bluetooth music streaming.

Looks like a selector switch to select having the map lights both off, on or on when a door is open kind of like the switch found on a middle dome light.

From the look of the little graphic, I'd say that's either the tractor beam or the photon torpedoes.;)

A tractor beam! Brilliant! It'll make drafting so much easier. ;)

Thats one thing I'm wondering... There is a possibility it could be between the 2 circles on the center screen which correspond to the buttons on the wheel, but they are blue. The speedometer/gas gauge/instant mpg image shown by team prius is the greenish color we are used to now... So my guesses are either on that center screen between the blue circles or just on that screen and the circle screen changes OR there is still the possibility of a HUD that will put it on the windshield.

One reason that may support the HUD idea is if you look at the video that center display is not centered much in front of the driver, esp where the speedometer would be in it.

Now that I look at this picture, is it just me or are the circles on that upper dsplay cluster missing and does that look like a 0 mph reading for speed? Maybe tomorrow (Monday) team prius will either show us a location for the speedo or they'll show us what the heck that square is with the 3 round circles below it above the start/stop button ;)

I was thinking maybe that front bumper detection got something to do with the round circular sensors. However, from this pic, these sensors are pointing to the side. Therefore, that front detection must have something to do with the overhead camera (above the rear view mirror).

These round side sensors will probably detect and brake for you if someone cuts you off.

Good question...we've seen a screen grab of it from a previous bossdowner video..but I can't see what part of the dash it came from.
Does this leave the possiblility of a HUD live? Does this come up the same place the "Welcome to Prius" banner comes up?? Wherever that is.

To have some more fun, I know I am looking too much into it. Someone has to raise this question. :D

The fuel they put in the cup, is it even gasoline? It look too yellow to be 87 octane gasoline. Is it diesel? Maybe it is apple juice just to make this commercial.

There you are getting into styling for commercials.
I used to know a woman that did food styling for commercials.
It's incredible what they do to get stuff to look "right" for the cameras...
...don't inquire too much about the contents of the cup ;)

I did a comparison side by side with the current iconic Prius.

With the assumption that the length will stay the same, I put these together. The new Prius is lower, wheelbase is shorter. It looks more aerodynamic because the slope from the front to the roof is lower.

I made another comparison by making the wheelbase the same. The new Prius is now longer than the iconic Prius and still lower!

Why are these little car icons sedan? Why can't they be hatchback like the Prius? Would you want those little car icons be Prius instead?

Hmm, I can't really see how you're calling the '10 lower to the ground than the 2G. To me they look about the same, but it's essentially impossible to say which is lower b/c the 2G has the black trip and the floor below it is black as well.

I note that the rims on both seem to be identical.

If it is, it'll be for setting the distance of the radar cruise control

No idea but someone suggested radar cruise control.

and I thank Toyota for putting it as a separate button. I don't like the IS version where it sprays it every time you spray the windshield.

That switch would be the one to toggle between OFF, DOOR and ON.

That's part of the "Clearance and Back Up Sensor". i.e. when you back up, not only will the rear sensors beep, those corner ones will too if you get close to the car in front of you as you pull into the curb spot. Look at the Sienna XLE for an example. It also comes with a pictogram on the MFD.

I thought it's between the steering wheel buttons and the pseudo-MFD?

The "Welcome to PRIUS" bit is probably the pseudo-MFD if I had to guess.
