Yeah, the tune/volume knobs are probably right. I think it says Tune File on the right knob. Not sure what it says in addition to Volume on the left knob.

I'm also thinking it's SEEK above TRACK, and DISP below SETUP. No clue about the thing on the top left, though!

 

Would the top left 3 little buttons be to set the clock? Is there a little analog clock like in the current Prius?

 

Perhaps they're LED's for the bigger button above them, the one so handily placed close to the steering wheel , that it can only be one thing........... IT'S THE TURBO BUTTON !!

So the LED's show turbo on, turbo off and turbo p&g

You are correct. All Prii (at least 2004 forward) with auto dimming mirrors have this feature.

Welcome!! And your English is very good. My grandmother was born in Barcelona (though likely a long time before you - 1899 ) as was my uncle's wife (1933). I saw 1 Prius in Rosas in April 2007, none in Barcelona. Are they more prevalent now?

 

Interesting that they now think the most important buttons (easiest to reach on the MFD surround) are all related to the audio system.

1. What is 'mode'? On the current car, Mode on the left side of the wheel (audio controls) jumps from AM to FM etc. Why would there be a button for that below the CD player if the individual buttons are on the MFD surround? I never use the hard audio buttons other than seek/scan anyway (and I notice THOSE are harder to reach on the FAR side of the MFD surround in the 2010), the ones on the steering wheel are MUCH more convenient.
2. Do all the climate buttons surrounding the CD player mean they are no longer on the MFD? I HOPE this is not the case, but I would assume so, no need to have them on the steering wheel (they are all still there RIGHT!!?!?) AND on a MFD screen AND these new ones.

If they really are moving soft 'touch screen' buttons to hard buttons, I see that as yet another throwback in functionality. You can create as many screen menus as you like without cluttering up the controls. This interior has EIGHT climate hard buttons potentially replacing 1 hard button and its screen on the MFD.

We need some MFD shots. At this point, I would almost guess that we have lost MOST of the screens in the current Prius at the expense of a lot more hard buttons. What they need are MORE screens for setting things like:

• the back-up beep
• seatbelt beep
• which doors open when the car is unlocked
• ScanGuage features like RPM, coolant temp
• etc.

I think Toyota needs to stop reading the car rags that say having the 'gauges' at the dash windshield line instead of in the 'traditional' position (HIDDEN) behind the steering wheel is a 'bad thing'. Not having 'normal' climate control knobs on the console is a 'bad thing'. Not having sub 8 second 0-60 MPH is a 'bad thing', shifter on the dash instead of on the console is a 'bad thing', etc. A lot of what they b1tch about is what makes the Prius BETTER than 'normal, traditional' cars. Easier to use, less clutter, more safe (eyes stay on or nearly on the road).

 

They're definitely there in Bossdowner's video. There's a clear shot of the right side of the steering wheel with TRIP, DISP, TEMP and recirculation controls. This appears to be mirrored on the instrumentation display, which shows there's also volume, track, and mode controls, like the current Prius.

 

Ah, that makes more sense! I was wondering where the CD slot was.

I have never seen it and like it. It reminds me of my old 2000 Celica front.

Did anyone notice the button under the TEMP? Is it to wash the headlamp? It looks like some type of detection to front of the bumper.
