I am the first to say I love performance cars-I was a 1/4 mile racer for years and built/owned some wicked cars. Then I moved to German cars and have owned 10 Porsche coupes as well as many other very nice cars. All great stuff.

Today my DD is a Prius with some moderate mods. I love my Prius and drive it because I believe the USA needs to reduce/eliminate our dependance on foreign oil. Yes, I can afford to drive a new Z-06, new 997C4S, etc., but I choose to drive my Prius for now.

If you are not part of the solution, you are the problem.

The part I love is the bizarre assumption that we all somehow drive the Prius b/c we're incapable of 'handling' a "real" car or large truck... The second we get behind the wheel we'll become flustered, confused, and probably wreck the thing or just have a massive panic attack at the roar of the engine!!

Most of us quit driving behemoths not b/c we couldn't handle them, but b/c we got over the juvenile fascination with them or matured to the point we could appreciate a superior vehicle capable of more effectively performing the tasks we really need a car for.

Does anyone else get the feeling IronDonut came here to post a link to his "dumbass" mates blog? Could it be because no one reads it? Could they be the same person?

*yawn* a Tesla leaves all of us lying upside down in the dust, and uses less fuel.

Maybe it's a good thing that there are German and American POSes priced for people who can't afford a real sports car; otherwise they might be out abusing children and small animals.

Wow I log onto the computer after a entire night of drinking to find so much love. It warms my heart.

I've been thinking about the Tesla for a couple of months now. Looks like a great car.

I promise if I buy one I will recharge it on only 100% coal fired power sources.I'm a big believer in "emissions across town" vehicles. If I can't smell the emissions they must not exist and then I can feel good about myself without actually making one bit of difference.

Which side of that hard nice person bench seat in that muscle car did he wake up on after his all weeker?

Man, he is a crab nice person.

I had my share of nice older cars, my last American new Car besides my mini vans was an 81 Z 28 with the 350. Last of the big body Camaros.

Doe this character realize I am still saving half in gas. Not to mention the other benefits, enviro etc. Get this (if your watching the thread) it even has 13 to 1 compression ratio and runs on 87 octane. Lets see you run your LS 6 or 426 Hemi on 87 octane. Last time I rode in or drove a car like that it needed 98 octane red Ethel with the lead in it to keep it from knocking. Or add a can of that 104 octane boost I used to run in my super glide.

I think he needs to sleep this one off. When the price of gas goes back up, he'll be whining about the cost.

Gotta love these dumbasses who ensure that the US will only import more foreign terrorist oil. Of course, these same numnuts can't figure out - because "engineer" is a vague term far beyond their level of education - that domestic oil is only break even +$80 a barrel

I did some on-line investigation and have discovered that Grumpynerd is actually Bob Lutz, current vice-chairman of GM. What this means is that we are really in trouble. This is the guy that calls the new Caddy Escalade hybrid "eco-friendly". :D:deadhorse:
