....and I love it! Unfortunately, there wasn't an owner's manual. They are going to order me one, but thought I should find out what else might be missing. I only got one key fob -- How many came with the car new? (2008, package 5, not Touring model) Any other manuals or items I should have gotten? One other thing -- I found the buttons for the SKS system under the steering wheel -- but what do I do to activate the system -- push one or both? any particular order? Thanks to all for help!
Well, first of all Welcome and Congratulations on your new used Prius.:welcome: The new Prius' come with 2 key fobs. Check and see if the system is already activated. Lock the car, and then walk up with the key in ur pocket and grab the handle. If it unlocks, the SKS is activated already, if not....i don't know how to activate it..sorry
Ask the dealer about the second key fob. I only got one too, with my used 2006, but when I went back to fill out some extra paperwork, the salesman handed me the second key fob. He had put it in his pocket and forgot to give it to me.
Howdy from up north!! Also have pkg 5...What color. Did you get A good buy?? Dodge dealer ?? Any history
I think these are the booklets and other paper to get: 1. Owner's Manual 2. Maintenance booklet 3. Warranty booklet 4. Cheatsheet/quick owner's manual
The button on the left is for the SKS, push it in to turn it off and push it again to out postion to turn it on
We bought a used "Toyota certified" 2007 early this year from a Toyota dealer in Massachusetts. The dealer revealed that it had been a rental car (Hertz, Georgia, I think). The driver's side floor mat hooks and two plugs for holes in the under frame were found bagged in the trunk and I installed those (the dealer put in new mats but failed to notice that the hooks were missing). In addition to needing a second key, I noticed that the left front fender liner (several plastic pieces) was missing when I prepared to install mud flaps. The dealer programmed a second key and ordered and installed the liner. (We picked up the car on a Saturday--the "programmer" was not on duty that day). Afterward noticed that our Maine front plate (probably not used in Georgia) was screwed to the bumper rather than a bracket, and, later, a small plastic part that hangs down in front of the liner was missing. I ordered a bracket (apparently those come in the trunk also, but someone else must have borrowed it) and put that on, since it was not worth another trip back to the dealer. There was no sign that there had ever been a liner, maybe the factory missed it. Might pay to carefully inventory either new or used.
