I ordered a 2009 package 2 (Magnetic Gray Metallic) on 9/26/08. The dealer said it would be a 6 month wait. There are 38 ahead of me on the waiting list. I am hoping that some of those 38 drop out so that I can get mine a little sooner.

It arrived today. Got the call when I was out of town to pick up my son from college. The dealership closes at 6pm on Friday's so we're scheduled to pick it up first thing when they open tomorrow morning. Can't wait til the roadtrip back down to school on Sunday.

I've had my 2006 package 6 for a week but didn't want to drive it much until I got the clear bra, window tint and side moldings installed. That got done yesterday and now we're ready to roll! Here it is.

HA! I'd have a better chance getting lucky with a bus pass than a Prius, but thanks anyway.

(You should see it now. The mud flaps I installed today are smokin!)

Put about 50 miles on it today. The avg is at 46mpg now. The 4 mile trip home from the dealer I averaged 55mpg. I've got a slew of local driving tomorrow and then the 300 mile highway trip later in the day.

Our other two cars we have are Lexus's and I have to say this car is great!!!

BTW, M8, the contrast of your white car with the dark window tint looks great!!

I'm waiting for a 2009 Prius. Is it correct that you already have a 2009? I have heard that the 09 may not be here till Dec. If you already have one mine may be here soon. I had ordered in in June.

Got the call from the dealer today that we're at the top of the list and all we're waiting for now is the right model to arrive! Have been on the waiting list since 9/1, so this isn't too bad. We're about a month ahead of schedule and I still have two 17 year old cars sitting in my driveway that I need to offload!

    Great forums, btw!

Hi Everyone, If you are waiting and wondering if it's worth the wait, well I can tell you, it really is. I have about 3,500 miles on my 2008 Pkg.2 w/leather, and I just drove it across the State of Florida and back. We got 54.8 MPG on the trip, including driving around in West Palm Beach while we were there. It was about as comfortable as the car it replaced. That was a 2004 Lexus RX330. It is just as quiet too, except for the A/C fan when it's on high speed. That's normally only after you first start driving, after being parked in the sun. The Prius really drives great! We drove all weekend, and a lot of miles, for under $21.00 !!! The mileage has really gone up since hitting 3,000 miles, although the first tankfull was great at 50mpg. My worst mpg so far was 48.8mpg. My wife has a 2008 Pkg.6 and she also loves hers, and is experiencing about the same mpg. We discussed the fact that gas prices are dropping, and we decided that we are still happy that we bought them, even if gas goes under $2.00. We really feel like we gave up nothing in comfort or anything else. :) If you are waiting, don't bail out of the list just because gas prices are going down. You will love your new Prius.

Just got back from the 300+ mile trip today.....yes, this car is definitely worth the wait. 46mpg on the trip down and 51mpg on the trip back. Because it's still being broken in, I varied the speed between 65 and 70. Even with some gusty headwinds on the way down, the car felt stable on the highway.

My only gripe....I wish the driver seat had an adjustable lumbar support. My lower back is a bit achy after 5+ hours. On the bright side, I'm 6'4" and fit in the car great.

Love it!!! Hang in there you guys....your car will come. And as was mentioned above....don't bail because gas prices are coming down. The good news is that it will cost even less to drive your Prius.

We picked up our Silver Pine Mica 2009 package 6 last night!!!!!!!! Four days early! :D I was on my way out of town, so I had four hours of driving to enjoy it...AWESOME car in every way. I told my husband the only thing I don't like about it is that I can't be inside driving AND enjoying it's SPM cuteness from the outside at the same time :p

Rave reviews for our salesman, Jeff Dimmock at Toyota of Easley. He went over every inch of the car with us...he really wanted to make sure I understood the car - even the "boring" parts like setting it up for towing and how to open the fuse box thingy. Highly, highly recommend the dealer and their resident Prius expert, Jeff for anyone in the SE looking for a Prius. They've already won our business when we need to replace our minivan.

If anyone is looking for an '09 package 6 mag grey, they have two that aren't presold at the dealership. Call Jeff!

My dealer in Milpitas, CA, a large place had 14 unspoken for Prii for sale today. I believe they were all 2009's. Pack 2's, 5's, couple tourings, lots of colors.

2 months ago when I purchased, they had only 2 new ones. They ought to have a bunch through the Winter.

    ------------

It's good to hear you folks are really liking your Prius. Man, I'll tell ya I just love mine too.

To follow up on Cylcedrum's post on this, I did a quick inventory check (online) at ~5-6 bay area dealers, and most had somewhere between 12 - 20 prius on the lots. One as low as 8, one as high as 26.

I think we are hogging the Prii' over here.....
