TAKE ME OFF THE LIST!!!!! i picked up my 08 seaside pearl/gray interior touring #3 last night,i am glad i waited it out for the touring, it looks a little sportier and it is the only touring model i have seen where i live. the ride seems less floaty as from what i can remember from driving a non touring. bought from Burdick Toyota in N SYracuse. both the internet manager Jerry and the sales guy Matt V were great to work with and the sale was very low key , MSRP without any port installed options or pressure for extended warranty, maintenace plans etc. i had been on the list of 4 other dealers and some of those seemed to give up on getting me a car after i did not jump at the first prius i was offered even if it was not a package or color i wanted. would have accepted a #3 or #6 but the 3 works out well to allow me to put in heated seats and leather at the same time and i don't really need the NAV but still got the HID headlights. averaged 47mph on the way home cruising at 72 mph WOOHOO!
Turboboy, I just bought a base red with package #3 from Burdick! I only had to wait about a week from deposit to drive-away. I had a good buying experience there as well. No pressure for extras and no BS with price.
Glad for you turboboy.:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I think your the third one to go off the list from April and May. I've beenge holding out for a touring. Your experience gives me some hope. I need a little encouragement right now because we need to have our new car whatever it is by October. Anyway enjoy your touring.

Wow, still someone on the list from April. Yikes. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for y'all on the 18th!
Well guys and Gals Take me off the list. I finally broke down..or should I say my current car broke down and I had to go for a Camry Hybrid. I must say so far I love it! Good Luck to all and I will definitely check in to see how you all progress and get some tips on Hypermiling the Camry.
Garry sorry to lose you from the list that way. Camry should be a good consolation prize. With a '97 and '91 now we are near the limit of our wait. We will be looking at our plan B after the 18th.
Count me lucky. I put in an order about a month ago for any Prius with Package 3 and up although my preference was a Touring with everything but the leather. I was told 3-5 months but they'd call with anything that came in with a cancellation. But I was told I was about number 30 on the list so I settled in for a long wait. Last Thursday I got the call at dinner, a Touring with everything but the leather was on the lot without a buyer, color black. Not my first choice in color but white was the only one I'd refuse. Finished dinner and drove to the dealer. Asked how I got the call so soon. He said there was only one other Touring order ahead of me and he wasn't home so I got the call. Glad I drove right to the dealer and didn't wait until the next day. Took delivery today. The car is amazing. Will certainly take some getting accustomed to the startup operation. Right now I have to think about what I'm doing. The smart key spoils you in a hurry. Only possible negative is visibility out the hatch with the larger spoiler. Probably will need to just get comfortable with it. I'm really lucky....
I don't understand the prius waiting list. I searched, found and bought the exact prius I wanted within 2 days. I'm in L.A. and I know the delaer I bought from had many more in stock.
yes, i'm hearing from my friends that there are prius's in stock, available right now in dealerships. havent seen it myself, but that's what i heard.
Ah. To understand the system of allocation. Watching this list some people are walking in and finding them in stock or available after two weeks wait. The west coast does seem to get more of them than we're getting here on east coast. In LA (City of the Angles, not Lower Alabama) they are sitting in dealers lots. Here in the Ga I've been waiting 15 weeks and poor Sands has been on the list waiting since April. Life is just not fair.:hurt::frusty::frusty::frusty:
The five 08s that were at our local dealer last week are all gone. Sold the last three on Saturday -- I think the recent rise in gas around here (avg. $0.40 / gallon) helped get them off the lot. No 09's as yet - The dealer isn't even taking deposits right now. There are still plenty of people in our area waiting, but nothing like some of the folks listed on this thread.
I am hoping to hear this week that mine is in the allotment. We ordered 6/15 and had hoped to see a car at end of august.
rcaine Like I said I hated it but I had to do it. The TCH is VERY nice though..I am already in love..lol. I do have some items I pre-ordered for my Prius if anyone is interested in a deal. I have the interior and rear cargo mats in Grey. The bumper protector and mud flaps..If interested PM me and I will give you a good deal. BTW these are obviously unused
Just got the call tonite that my touring edition Prius arrived at the dealership. Thats a total of 3 and one half months on the waiting list! I'm going to check it out tomorrow and make sure its what I requested.

After making a reservation with a $500 deposit 8/05, I called the dealer this week to find out where I was on their list, etc. They told me I'm #93 and they're getting 3-4 cars per week. At that rate, I figure mid-February 2009. The salesman asked if I would consider other colors or packages; and I, of course, said yes. I guess it's time to focus on other things and maybe check back in a month to see how far down the list I've gone.
Heres todays update. When I arrived at my dealer this morning I noticed there were two classic silver metallic touring models package 3 and perhaps 3 other base models on the lot ( all were of course spoken for). My silver touring turned out to be a 2008 model that contained the 600.00 discount off the sticker price. The identical 2009 model with the same package had no discount at all. I consider myself lucky to save a few dollars in todays market. The business manager I met with did not pressure me into any other options or addons. In fact he said that the car is so complete you really dont need anything more. It actually was a very pleasant experience! I scheduled delivery for this Saturday.
