Does anyone know the port city for Toyotas destined for Houston? I read a post about a Toyota sold in Austin, TX with a sticker that indicated it landed in Long Beach, CA. I assumed Toyotas distributed by Gulf States Toyota went through the Panama Canal to ports on the Gulf, but I cannot find any evidence of Toyotas on the Houston Ship Channel. Mine is supposed to land today, but where???
I think I found my answer. In 1972 they had a 33 acre processing facility at the Port of Houston. By 1994 they opened an 80 acre processing site on the north side of Houston, serviced by rail and transport. Sounds like GST receives their vehicles at the Port of Houston.
And it's always possible for a dealer to have one transported which entered at another port, to meet some special need.
all japanese toyotas such as prius come to Benecia,Ca then shipped by truck or rail to the respective region
You are mistaken, thats not at all true. Gulf region ports in Houston S.E.T. in Jacksonville NE, in portland Mid atlantic - somewhere. ?
