Anyone installed it on their car? Did you install it yourself? How much did you pay.. I'm interested in this product and would like to get your opinion
I have the 3100 and it works very well. My collegue has a "bigger" one with colordisplay and it work fine too. If u like it buy it. 73 G.
I've got the 3200 in my company vehicle (an '05 Silverado 2500HD). I had it installed at Circuit City (cringe!) because they had the best deal. I think I paid about $278 installed. Works very well for the most part. It will have different levels of functionality with different bluetooth phones that you pair it with. With my Blackberry 7100i it transferrs the phonebook and has good sound quality, but the voice dial doesn't seem to work....look into it's compatibility with your phone at Parrot's website to see if/what functions it supports before buying. Good Luck!
$278 is a lot of money to spend for a box that just does bluetooth, you probably could get a tomtom gps with its own bluetooth handsfree for that much
4 replies and only one answered the question. Has anyone done this them self? omgitsroy326: Please keep us posted as to what you decide and how you get it installed. I asked on here about which wire harness to get and no replies. I have CK3100 and would like to know basically the same thing you're asking. I have 2008 Prius with Pkg 2 installed. Wedge
how about buying the 3300? its a newer item, and for roughly the same amount of money would have a gps antenna to connect your smart phone, pda, or laptop to.
If you get a harness, the install is easy if you are comfortable removing your radio. You can purchase a harness at www quickconnectproducts com. . Just indicate if you have jbl or not. Hope this helps.
I just installed the 3200 LS on my '09. Relatively easy install, hid the wires under the dash and placed the mic up near the sunglass holder. Popped out the lower glove box and left passenger side air vent (right of display), reached around under the radio and installed the wire harness from the above mentioned site. I did find a new 3200 LS on ebay for about ($100) and with installing myself saved over $300 from the quoted Car Toys installed price.
Wow.. That sounds much easier that what I've been reading so far. What I have read is you have to tear the 2/3 the dash out to get the radio out then install the harness and put it all back together. I would like to place my CK3100 in the compartment below the radio and I'm not sure where to put the mic. Let us know how you mic location works ok? Wedge
I've had one for awhile, works great 99% of the time. The other 1% of calls has volume too low, don't know if it's a phone or Parrot issue. Installed by automotive aftermarket shop, less than $300. I recommend it as an aftermarket device, but next time I'll probably get the bluetooth package with the new car.
I forgot to mention there is a set of wiring right under the air-vent cover that blocks easy access to the radio. It's held there by one small screw, I simply unscrewed it and carefully moved it aside to reach the radio. So far so good on mic location, some have placed it right near the MFD and have mentioned slight feedback. I did find out how on the 3200 itself how to increase mic volume so maybe that helps depending on where you place it. -Mike
The best mic location is behind the rear view mirror, clipped onto the headliner. I install about 20 of these a week. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Three questions. Do I really need to take 2/3 of dash apart to get the radio out? Or can I just remove the two air vents either side of the radio? Where is a good location for the Parrot unit itself? I was thinking of inside the compartment under the radio. How did you route the mic wire up to the visor location. If you have photos for any of these question that would help also.. Ya know what they say about pictures. Wedge
