Rcaine- Looks like I'm going to be kept on your list as NUMBER 1 for another month. My salesman just left a Voice Mail that my car was not on the current allocation. So much for working with the largest Toyota Dealer in New England!!!! I hope that if your car comes in this list could be continued.
None of the folks on the list have their car yet. Notice that five of the six on the list are waiting for a touring model. If you are willing to accept a 1224 and have a range of options you'll accept you can get a car in shorter time. We have been offer one or two cars that were not what we wanted. My wife and I have been talking this approach over. Our older cars are not trip worthy. We are either going to have to settle for a 1224 or look at another car (prehaps back to a Honda). This is very frustrating and we have decided we need to be in our new car for our October 24 weekend out of town. That leaves us one allocation if we stick with the Prius.
Take me off the waiting list!! Got my Magnetic Grey on Thurs. night in the rain. Only problem is according to the law of Clown physics the car is much too BIG. The law states that the size of a car is inversely proportional to the number of clowns it will carry. So, if the car were smaller I could carry more of my friends. Just kidding, I love it!!:amen::amen:
Congratulations Toothy. I glad to see someone on the list is getting leaving the April/May list. I'm sure clown physics will have all sorts of fun with the stealth mode.
Got a call from the dealer today. We've been waiting since May. We are now #1 on the list for a Magnetic Gray Pkg 6. Unfortunately, we weren't on the September allocation list. We're now hoping for October. Jeez.
I guess I need to add you to the list of very frustrated Seniors on the Waiting List Support Group. When in may did you put your deposit in? And are you waiting for a Touring or a Standard or Base? Let me know and I put you in Toothy's place on the list.
Just to get my name on the list, I had put a deposit on a standard #2, but after reading on the forums for a week or so I decided to switch to a touring #2, on the 2nd of september, Dealer quoted me 12ish weeks, so I am keeping my fingers crossed! Joshua Wood
How can I keep up with when the allotments are coming out in the Southeast. I want to know when to bug my salesman.
For anyone wainting in the Philadelphia area: I was at my dealer this morning for some post-purchase additions (got the Prius on 8/15). Sitting outside was a 2008 gray package 5. Inquired about it and was told that it was available - "the deal fell through". It is at Conicelli Toyota in Conshohocken. Was there this afternoon, don't know for how long. irv
I've got a question, how and where do you folks find this mystical "allocation list?" I see plenty of comments about checking it, but where do you go to find it? I've tried searching here but the only URL I found apparently isn't working and hasn't worked in some time. Thanks in advance!
I have been on the list of a CA dealer for over three months now. He called yesterday and stated that he will have a 2009, Black Option #2 coming in, three weeks from now. I didn't want black but am sick of waiting and since he calls me every other week with a color other than the one I wanted, I'm going with a black one. Can't wait to get it, I should have the vin next week.
First time poster here... After 14 weeks, I guess I'll throw my hat in as one of the frustrated, too. Got on the list May 28 for a Standard Pkg 6 at MSRP. 6 of the 9 colors OK, any interior. We were about #90-100 on their list. We got an estimate of 8-10 weeks. (This is at a very large dealer in the upper midwest). After the first 7 weeks, we moved up to #40... moving up about 7-8 per week. 7 more weeks later, we're still in the low 30s. So, it looks like the best case (if they get back to the 7-8 per week), it'll be another month. If they stay at 1 per week... April 09? Hmm...
The five state Southeastern Region gives the most complete information. We can go to BuyaToyota.com and see the cars allocated and available region wide and how many are allocated to a specific dealership. The allocations usually update on the first and third Thursday of each month. The September 4 allocation was not there on the morning of the 4th as it usually is. I'm not sure when it went out but it was out there by Friday morning. I have not seen the details offered in any of the other Toyota regions. For these other regions you have to check dealership by dealership. If I were in another region I might follow the details of SE region for the ratio of 1220's, 1224's and 1226's and the total number of Prii coming in. Hope that helps you out.:horn:
HANG IN THERE EVERYONE! After one full day with my new baby.....I'm in love. It definately was worth the wait. I can't keep myself off the road. Does anyone need a ride?
Being the instant gratification society, how do you guys do it? Last July I waited four days and I went nuts.
Just put down a deposit and put my name down on the waiting list for an 09 magnetic gray #2 package (my first Prius!). 6 (six!) months. Here's to hoping people ahead of me change their minds ...
