I went in to see my doctor with a complaint of shoulder and neck pain; my doctor insisted I get a rectal exam - I am not kidding. I think I need a new doctor. Everything checked out fine down below (thanks for asking) but now I have a pain in my neck and a pain in my...
I think the more relevant question here is why you feel compelled to stick your head up your nice person. (Sorry, I couldn't resist. Y'all can go back to being boring now.)
Did you ever read a book and could not put it down? That is what happen to me. Most of my life I didn't read books I thought it was boring. It wasn't reading that was boring, it was the books I picked.
About 10 years ago my friend Charles Johnson, the Vermont state naturalist, called me with a question about salmon. I was surprised and flattered to have Charles ask me about anything natural, for Charles holds an encyclopedic knowledge about the natural world and a deep but nonpedantic environmental ethic. Usually I call him. When I was writing a book about New England’s forests, I called Charles, and he made bog ecology, which is as complicated as calculus, seem as plain as pancakes. And when a woman I’d fallen in love with told me she had always wanted to see moose, I called Charles and asked him where to find moose.
I went for a walk this morning. Then I rode my bike to work. Now I'm sitting at my desk. I think I'll eat lunch later.
I was thinking about the Lassie TV show this morning. I seem to recall that there were basically only two lines of dialogue in it. Gramps: Lassie! Go find Timmy! Lassie: Woof! Woof!
It's almost time to move my Prius across the street -- New York City Alternate Side of the Street Parking Rules are calling. When I do these cold short runs, I think I average 2.7 mpg on the MFD.
Oh, sorry to disappoint you, Boo. I've been preoccupied with hemming up a skirt by hand. Quite tedious, aside from the needle under the nail bit. I promise, more crack this Sunday (too much excitement going on between now and then).
Tonight after supper I took out the garbage and recycling, turned the compost, cleaned out part of the garage, put two crates of returnables in the car, and helped defrost the freezer. Yeeeha.

I'm going to stop reading this thread for the night. I'm turning to Doc Willie's http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-main-forum/51524-removing-insect-repellant-vinyl.html
I watched an american toad eat a bug today. I also observed a ground beetle with two large spots which resembled eyes. Upon referencing my trusty fieldguide I found I had spotted the eastern eyed click beetle, alaus oculatus. How exciting.
While tending my garden today, I saw a green praying mantis thing on one of the sun flower stalks. It reminded me that many weeks ago, I had found a little tiny green praying mantis thing on something I had brought into the house. Back then, I picked up the little one, thinking it must be a baby, and set it free in my garden. Seeing the big one today made me wonder if it was the same one all grown up, and if it recognized me the way Christian the Lion recognized John and Ace in that video on the Today show this morning. It didn't approach me, so probably not. But then again, it didn't run away.
We have four shihtzus. They are all yappers. I watched some lady in the UK stop yapping in only 30 minutes. Amazing.
