I like the Thread of the Month idea but the automatic thread post it creates is a little annoying. Whenever I search updated threads I posted to TOTM keeps showing up and it is always for "Priusite nominated this post" and I don't want to read it. Any way to ignore the thread when there is an automatic post to it? Thanks in advance, Danny.
Unfortunately, at this time, there isn't a way to ignore it. I'll see about that in the future, though.
I actually like it. It provides a link to a nominated thread I may have missed. I then have the opportunity to read something someone else thinks is really good.
I wish there was a way to separate the technical information from the crap. just use four words: Go Get A Job just use four words: shut the he!! up
The double click is your friend Just double click the forums on the forum page that you don't want to read through. Then when you go to read new posts you don't have to wade through crap you are not interested in. I usually omit about half a dozen forums that way.
Danny, I'm sure you've gotten this request before this thread started, but I would find the ability to ignore an individual thread very helpful. Frankly, I don't care to participate in most of the political discussions or the "Use [x] words" threads or most of the other fluff in Fred's. It would be handy not to have to scan those when I "View New Posts" (the usual way I check in at PC). I don't want to totally ignore Fred's, however, because occasionally topics of interest come up. And from time to time there will be threads in other forums I'd like to ignore. Thanks!
Well, the Administrator should not ignore threads--if posters can't. It's disturbing to see a thread with a misleading or erroneous title designed to attract attention in a tabloid way. These are usually found in the political pancakes section. It takes about a post or two to see that the title is incorrect. Those titles need to be changed or deleted. It cheapens the chatgroup.
I guess I am behind the times... I don't understand the need for a "thread of the month" or even a "poster of the month". I hope I don't get nominated, sounds like it would make lots of work for me to keep up to a certain standard of posts...
