I have heard a lot of bad things about these people so I just wanted to let everyone know of my latest order with them. I ordered thew EV mod for my wifes car on July 13th and received it via UPS on July 16th. I dn't know if their people skills have improved but if they keep delivering like that they probably won't need much in the way of people skills! Oh and it took about 15 min to install.FYI.
. That's my experience too. They rock at making the components and shipping them out with good jelly beans and instructions. They suck at replying to e-mails and website management/design That being said... As I pretty much only care about their products, and they DO answer my customer phone calls, I rate them an 8 out of 10! .
I ordered a lockpick 3+ from them on Monday, on Tues its was already in the hands of UPS. Haven't used their email support, but orders seem to ship right out without delay.
I actually had a very good experience with their e-mail in that they responded within minutes of my question. This was during the middle of the day a few weeks ago.
I just emailed the site yesterday asking if the lockpik 3+ will work with the 7.1 version NAV software. Does anyone have that version and using lockpick 3+ ?
Ordered the Lockpick 3+ on Monday, and it arrived on Friday. No complaints here on their order processing and shipping. Maybe PriusShop can learn something here.
I also just ordered a Lockpick 3+ for my 2008 Prius. It arrived in about three days. I had also emailed them two or three times prior to ordering. Their email replies could have been faster, but they did get around to answering my questions and I bought the device. I had it installed today and it works great!
My wife ordered me the lockpick 3 on the 15th. It arrived in 4 days. Unfortunately the lockpick did not work (DOA). I got on the phone and they sent out another. It arrived today and works fine. We did everything over the phone so I can't say what the email situation is. No complaints here.
Good thing they're going in the right direction. It was different when I ordered. It depended on whether they have the product in stock or not. If they do it's out to you fast. If not you have to wait, generally without knowing why. For me I ordered an Auto-Lock and Nav Kit in April '05. I got the Auto-Lock in September '05 (after I had complained in July on a Yahoo group and made several calls) and the Nav Kit in January '06. I ordered the EV kit in February '06 and it was shipped out the next day.
I have been ordering from them for two years -- '06 Prius (totaled in SF): Hitch, EV switch, Lock Pick and more; never any problems and excellent service. '07 Prius (replacing the totaled '06): They sent me a hitch bracket I needed (for free!), replaced (for free!) the EV switch I tried to transfer but broke the pin on and helped my configure the Lock Pick 3 I bought. Phone service is instant and stellar, even their new email support is within a few hours. My sense is that whatever problems they've had in the past (real or trumped up by dissers) are no longer an issue.
I had a one-week turnaround from order to delivery to Southern California. I got a same-day response on an email question regarding product features. Their performance has been remarkably good - even providing a list of installers in California as requested. Thumbs up from me!
