I like the natural light that comes in through the window near my desk. But the glare can be too bright. There's really no other way to configure my seating or computer placement so I just deal with it.

    I'm watching a queue.

This is my job. I'm being paid to watch a queue. If anything falls into it, I fish it out, inspect it, and then send it on its way. Then I keep watching the queue.

I took a personal day from work today; I'm waiting for the delivery of a new washer and dryer.

I've already watched the few recorded programs from the DVR, changed my oil, and vacuumed the inside of Priapus.

I think I'll make some edits to a spreadsheet to keep busy.

It's still morning. I'm going to go get some coffee now. I'll add a bit of sugar and half-n-half.

I sat outside on my lunch break today. A woman with a dog walked down the street. It was hot outside. Then I went back to my cubicle and shook doodads loose from the keyboard.

My friend brought me some dirt today. We unloaded it in 5-gallon buckets. There were about 70 bucket loads. Our original assessment that it was about a yard and a half of dirt was pretty close. Phew, that was a lot of buckets of dirt to move. Afterwards, we were hot and tired, and retreated to the porch to drink some ice water. Next week I'm going to try to plant some plum and cherry pits in the buckets of dirt to see if I can get trees to grow.

I thoguht they did rate dryers for nergy Star. I'm almost positive that yellow sticker was on ours when it was delivered eighth years ago. Oops, my wife just came in and said the fire alarm went off in the bedroom. I better go check it out after I look at a couple more threads.

Sorry if my previous post created excitement for anyone -- I should have caught "nergy" before posting.

Oh, the alarm thing was a yawner. But I took the opportunity to make sure the back door was closed so bugs wouldn't fly in.

For Pete's sake, get your priorities straight. If your wife's on fire in the bedroom, you should be there. Like, before she calls the firemen. :)

Oh man. Sorry, this was supposed to be boring. ;)

Post deleted. One rude comment was probably more than enough.

This discussion about Energy Star is getting a little interesting. Also, pointing to new links intrigues a curious mind, stoking more interest.

Well, leave it to Hyo to ruin a perfectly boring thread.

Meanwhile, I did an oil change on the Prius last night. While under the car I saw something dripping from the transaxle. Something Pink. To make a short story exactly the same length, I took the car to the dealer this morning; the axle seal is being replaced under warranty.

My friend once said, "Ennui is the slack rope that connects two essentially uninteresting points."

I think I have to pee.

    Hope you're back by now.

Just had a thought which may force moderator to move this elsewhere, but we're getting hundreds of looks at this thread in just a couple of days or parts of days and some nights, and I'm wondering if "most boring" is an oxymoron. The superlative of something should perhaps indicate something of interest. But if the topic itself is boring, how can it be superlative? Or even comparative? Wouldn't "Boring thread" be more apt as a title? And if anyone responds to this post, won't that mean that it has something of interest and therefore doesn't qualify for this thread? I knew a family named Boring once.

Fraser, why would moderators worry over a boring thread?
That would mean the thread isn't boring, which it is, because of it's name.

Also, there is a distinction between "A Boring Thread" - which doesn't exist, as they would be only one post, and "Most Boring Thread", where multiple people try to out-bore themselves without creating an extra hole somewhere.

Anyhow, the point is moot, as thread titles cannot be changed without exploiting some form of MySQL hack, of which Danny is the sole person able to perform.

In concluding, I think that there is a dark portion of our minds that is drawn to what another human finds boring, that sparks an interest.

I had to microwave my lunch twice at work today, so supervise this thread and respond. Had this happened at my old job, there would have been a lineup of micro proportions.
