    Hey Chris,

The horns were $79 and the compressor was $179. A few electrical connectors and wires ($20?) to complete the install and that's it. It's really not too hard to install. Took about two hours. I can PM you some pics if you'd like. Sounds like some people on here have the sense of humor of a rattlesnake, but I find that your sense of humor is pretty cool too!

Of course I'm not going to scare livestock with the horns. I also know the noise laws for them. I'm not breaking any laws when I use them where I use them. Thank you to everyone for your input. They are mostly for a novelty. I kept the stock horns hooked up for use as well.

Wow, the price tag is a bit to much for me. I'd like to put a set on my Civic, if nothing else just to blast it at the asshats who are on their cell phones!

i have a set of train whistles on my truck and they are great. i obviously don't toot when old ladies/ect are nearby. 9/10 i use them when i see a 'gang' of thugs hanging around at a bus stop looking tough. they scatter pretty good :D

I thought it was spelled Stoopid?? LOL
I would never buy one but a louder horn is much needed in the prius. Everyweek I get drivers that just swerve into my lane for no reason and even with me laying on the horn they don't correct themselves.

Funny! Reminds me that 9 times out of 10 when someone busts someone's chops about spelling and grammar they usually spell grammar, "grammer". :D

I also happen to live in the VA / MD / DC metro area and I can say with a degree of certainty that a super-loud horn should be standard equipment on the Prius. Most drivers around here, especially on the beltway, don't even notice you unless you can either run over them or scare the living bejeebus out of them. I have looked into getting a set of semi air horns for the Prius myself. Congrats to you.

That's why I bought them. 270 and 495 are crazy roads to be driving around here!!! People do not hear the pip squeak horn that Toyota installs.

Does that have something to do with low income housing:huh: and the multi-function display?

I have a Honda PC800, which is sort of an oddball motorcycle, made for long distance riding but not as big as a Goldwing... Anyway, I put dual Volvo horns on it, not air horns but very very loud.

I used them in an "Oh crap" moment on the highway without good result - the guy who didn't see me continued to not see me. He also started whipping his head around and swerving erratically trying to find the huge vehicle that made the noise.

Modified the hell out of my first car, including a hidden PA system. Wouldn't do it now and feel somewhat bad about having done it in the past, but my friends still talk about some of the crazy things we did with it.
