Hey thats what I ordered.. Are you sure you didn't get my car? Congrats.. It gives me a little more hope now. Wedge
that's GREAT news ... even if you had to "settle" for a pkg 2! you placed your deposit about 11 days before we did, and we've ALSO let the dealer know that we'll "settle" for a pkg 2 in any of five colors; though we're STILL hoping for a pkg 3 in Seaside Pearl .... thanks for the info; i'll definitely look into that ... if not this evening, then sometime tomorrow. the above, i suppose, is ALSO a possibility for renting a Prius; but i don't even like driving around Indianapolis, and Chicago is about six-times the size! still, thanks for the idea.
for TravelBliss ... i'm SO glad that you've finally received your Prius! see ... i TOLD you that you'd get yours before we get ours!!! it must have been all those hairs i crossed for extra-good-luck on your behalf! oh ... and thanks for including those pics for all of us to see / dream about / drool over ... ESPECIALLY those of us still residing in the wait-line!!!
Another nubie joining the group. We placed our order on May 24 which means it went in to the system on May 27 (after the holiday weekend). We want a Touring Option 3 with Leather seats in Pine Mica (some love it, some hate it--we like it). Dealer says our car is ordered with our specs. They say changing the specs would not speed the process. We signed with one dealer for $5000 over MSRP but cancelled almost immediately. Despite promises they put our credit charge through 30 days later. That dealership is off our list for good. We signed with another dealership with a reputation for good service at MSRP. They told us 30 to 60 days although that has changed to 45 to 90 days with nothing guaranteed. We are now at 45 days and waiting. Two weeks ago they said they had 16 people waiting and nobody waiting more than 90 days. I've read this whole thread and use what I've learned here in my now weekly call to the dealership. Glad to see so many of you getting yours in. I report back after my next call.
Travel Bliss, I love my black prius. I have the tan interior. Enjoy it, and the dust shows easily!!! make sure you join the black prius fan club.
^^^^ LOL....i think i was ahead you on the WL !!!! Hang in there, wedge, it is definitely worth the wait !!! thanks, Gloin....your "hair-trick" worked !!!! Dust? What DUST?? lol... what's the club you're talking about ?? Isn't black just the best classic color?? I can't wait to tint the windows.... ????????? Thanks everyone...now let's get :focus: I will still pop in to welcome the WLers (waitlisters).....will keep fingers crossed for those due this month !!!!! :thumb:
Congratulations!!!!!! Sigh, another week without a return call from my salesman as to whether or not my car is coming in on this weeks allotment. Let us know your mileage.
I have two questions for anyone who might know the answers. 1. Is there any downside to having a car painted? 2. Is it possible to obtain the Spectra Blue Mica paint?
that is soooooooooooooooooooo happy Travelbliss I am pretty sure with you off the wait list I am now the senior member I on the wait list I have been waiting since May 3rd I cant wait till I get to make the announcement that I have mine!
Even the best custom paint jobs won't be as good as factory unless it was a "down to the frame" rebuild of a classic car (big bucks). The factory paints many parts before they are installed which means lots of interior/underhood/bottom parts are difficult to repaint unless the car is taken apart. Even on the outside most paint shops will mask off trim, rubber and chrome making it easy to determine if a repaint has occurred, especially obvious when the color has changed. Most body shop paint jobs replicate the original color after a repair or panel replacement. When painting using the original color no work is required on the hard to paint parts or the rest of the outside not involved in the repair. Blending is done to ensure a seamless transition from original paint to new duplicated paint areas. Changing colors eliminates the blending option. Bottom line, I would not repaint a new car just to get the color desired. It could actually lower the resale because it looks like a repair or even an attempt to change a stolen vehicle. But if you moved forward with a change of color regardless, the paint can be obtained from toyota and/or matched by most shops.
Put a deposit down on a black 2009 Prius Special Edition Premium in Saskatoon, SK, Canada. Expected delivery date is October. This is the first car I've ever bought so I'm very excited!
I got it I got it.....10 weeks to the day after I got on the list... I am officially off the list and in the wonderful land of actual ownership a new phase of the obsession has started Hold strong wait listers I promise they really will call you one of these days and you will get yours
Congratulations Beckaloulou!!!! This is getting ridiculous though. Mine isn't even on the way here. I'm beginning to think that I should of gone to a different part of the country to buy mine!
Kittykat, You just needed to go to another dealer in this part of the country. You probably went to one of corporate owned dealers in Austin like Champion instead of a customer oriented one like San Marcos or North Park in Boerne.
Well the wait is over for me... After 3 weeks of waiting my wife is signing papers and driving my new baby home soon from a different dealer who had one on the lot and wasn't keeping any lists. Thats right my wife gets to drive it first, I must lover her an awful lot!
Buy a plane ticket to Winston-Salem NC and drive home your new Prius! I cruised through a Toyota lot on Peters Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem NC today just for the heck and saw a Super White Pkg 2 and a Seaside Pearl Pkg 2, both for $24,300.00 just waiting to be snatched up. (I'll wave when I see you!)Check them out at moderntoyota.com. I'll look around for some more.
Picked up our Spectra Blue Mica Touring pkg 6 this morning! MSRP less Costco discount. Our experience with Bob Bridge Toyota in Renton WA was first rate, no hassles, excellent customer service by John Stone and team. Our wait was 7 weeks (May 24 - July 12). We were quoted 1 to 4 months when we put our $500 down in May.
