i want a touring 2, but had to settle for a base 2. touring is rare enough in the midwest. but, if you do find one it is a 6.
We are on our 4th week of wait for my aunt's Prius to arrive. Two weeks ago, the dealer asked for a 500 credit card deposit...we are still hoping to get a phone call sometime next week.
I rented a Prius with beige interior as a test drive, and the interior had a lot of dirt smudges in it. I figure a rental gets vacuumed 2 or 3 times a week, so the fabric must grab the dirt and hold on. I'd consider beige only if I got a good deal on fabric protection... One of the few stipulations when I put in my deposit was the grey interior.
Welcome to Orland Toyota Main: (708) 429-3900 Service: (708) 429-3907 Internet Sales: (888) 845-3618 Orland Toyota in Tinley Park - Chicago, Aurora and Gary Toyota Dealer - New and Used Sales, Parts and Service CHICAGO SOUTHWEST SUBURBS Eight new Prius in the Chicagoland area? I called my salesman, Ted Copper when I saw the inventory photos. I purchased a 2008 Pine Mica package 6 late April. He said the eight Prius in the inventory that were earlier photographed were scooped up fast. He expects a grey Prius package 2 in soon. He said the salesmen now take orders specifically on color and package and try to match the customer with exact combination when possible. He was great but don't expect him to help you figure out the Navigation system. He gave me a Blue Book + trade-in with a little gentle urging for my 2004 Highlander when gas prices were $3.89 and climbing. He said the dealership expects more Prius from the region, whatever that means. I am a long time Toyota buyer of 25 years and purchased from them in 1997. Ironically my salesman then Hector, is now the current manager of the dealership who sold me my Camry LE. Hector informed me that the dealership will not take advantage of customers short term. I paid full MSRP and have a few little dealer extras that I am sure Orland Toyota made a few bucks on, however I was 'saved' the extended warranty drill upon request. The sales contract was straightforward and painless. If your in the area you might want to put them on your list of possible dealerships, I recommend you check them out. Terry
Just got an email from our dealer and our Prius is suppose to arrive between July 17th and July 23rd. Barcelona Red Package #3. Deposit was done on May 30th.
slowly - oh, sooo slowly - getting caught up within this thread .... that's great, realale! that means ... there's one less person in this line in front of me! but seriously ... VERY happy for you!!! did you say ... purple glitter?!?!? hmmm ... are you planning to re-locate to Manhattan, Kansas, perhaps? fingers ... toes ... toe-nails ... the few hairs that remain atop my head ... etc, etc and et al ....
what a fortuitous (sp) "drive by" THAT was!!! congratulations to you, Emblazon!!! i haven't heard anything from "my" dealer either ... at least; not unless i make the call or send the e-mail and ask for an up-date!!! actually, we're now dealing with TWO dealerships ... one about 40 miles away and the other about 55 miles away. as for you, kittykat, and TravelBliss, being in a race ... well, if it's any consolation, i believe you'll BOTH have yours long before we have ours .... i've TRIED doing that; really i have!!! but the FIVE rental agencies i've contacted - in both Lafayette and Indianapolis - have told me that they can NOT guarantee that i'd actually get any specific make or model. they assign their cars "by class". so ... is there some "trick" i'm not aware of for getting a Prius specifically??? did you need to sign a form that states you're with GreenPeace or something???
TRAVELBLISS - since you're the OP of this thread, i'm trying to help you.......but i have no idea where you're located at. TO ALL - this is my SECOND purchase from the same dealership, everything they told me was true, and it's a nice reality. PM me if you are wanting to purchase in the SO-CAL area. NO, i'm not a salesman, i'm just trying to give you all a good referral to a dealership that really delivers what they say - YES, it's at MSRP! cheers.
i'm off to see if those pics are posted already ... that is; as soon as i say CONGRATULATIONS!!! as pdhenry has already suggested, the Beige "should" be fine with a good fabric protectant, such as ScotchGuard ... just be sure you follow the directions VERY closely. the wife DIDN'T follow the directions closely the first time she tried such a product, and the car smelled like the back-room of a dry-cleaner's for about three months!!!!!
I went to Atlanta Toyota on 2 days ago because my brother and my mother now are interested in a Prius afete aseeing my new O8. I got mine in 2 weeks last of Apr. Now I have been informed a 6 month wait, 500 deposit list to get on it and 25 people infront of me. Also advised that the earlu 09's will be same as 08 but expect a transitional model in latter half of the year. No word on the the batter change if any for next year or 2010 yet. ONe thinkg is certain. Prices went up $500 after I bought mine. Expect higher prices for 09's.
I put a deposit down on May 17th for Pkg 3 and listed 4 color choices. After seeing what the allotments were like I called and said I'd take a Pkg 2. In mid June my sales person called and asked if I would like a Black Pkg 2 on July 10th. I agreed to take it. Received a call today saying it had arrived. I picked it up at 1 this afternoon. I love the car. For those of you on a waiting list, hang it there, it'll get here before you know it. The sales person could not believe how much I already knew about the Prius. I told her how I did most of my research on this site. I've learned so much from these forums. Thanks all.
Cars in Hertz's "Green Collection" are make and model-reservable; it's specifically stated in the Terms and Conditions for the Green Collection. Details Having said that, I tried to make a dummy reservation for IND airport on the Hertz website and they don't seem to have the Green Collection there.
I too have tired in everywhere in Indiana to try to rent one and I could not find one for the life of me the closest I found was chicago...so you could take the mega bus ($1) one way up there and then pick up your rental and maybe drop it off here in Indiana OR drive it around spend the weekend in chicago and mega bus back!
I wouldn't hold my breath about that. I've seen plenty of people on here who put there deposits down after me already getting their cars. It's depressing. For me not for them Hope you get yours soon.
Hi all! My first post here...though we aren't on a waiting list yet (next week)... We test drove a Prius for the first time on Monday and DH was lucky enough to score one as his rental for a business trip this week in D.C. (Hertz Green Collection). Now that he's had a chance to *really* drive one, he's absolutely psyched about getting ours. He's totally geeked out over all the gadgets and whatnots and very, very happy with how it handles. Our dealer told us 4 months, which is fine with us since that's when we were originally planning to get a new car anyway. We'll be ordering the #6 package in magnetic grey...though I may talk myself into the seaside pearl.
I have a brand new Prius pkg# 2 for sale, silver in color. Please contact for more details, located in Southern Maine. Brian 1-207-321-3477 Ext 4621
I was 184 on Sunnyvale's list on 6/12. I called today and was told I was 102 on the list, almost a month later, so it's moving along pretty good. Honestly, I'm hoping that it goes out long enough that it's a 2009 rather than the last 2008. When did you get on the list?
HI EVERYONE !!!! GUESS WHAT???? MY PRIUS HAS ARRIVED !!!!!!! YAYYYY!!!!! Since I started this waitlist support thread, I thought I would hi-jack my own thread and share the newest member of my family with you .... THANK YOU to everyone who offered me suggestions, support and help....I am totally happy with this incredible car !!!!!   My little black 2008 Prius, package 2, dark grey interior....now all I need is window tint and I am set !!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
