Looks like most every one knows that Hybrid Effects has finished it's Prius Wheel Skirts. The Prius is wonderful car and I hope that every one that likes wheel skirts will enjoy them.

When I was driving the Prius around with the wheel skirts installed people were pointing and looking and it gave me great joy to see that they liked them.

Hybrid Effects is working on many other aero mods for the Prius, it just takes time.

Hybrid Effects is going to offer a Prius Aero Package that consists of a Grille Block, Aero Hub Caps and the Wheel Skirts. The Prius Aero Package really transforms the Prius Hybrid into one cool looking machine.

Hybrid Effects is releasing these products at a fair price due to there recent introduction into the market.

Note: After initial installation the wheel skirts can be removed fairly easy but the install and removal process could be improved upon. Hybrid Effects is offering a $200.00 rebate to any person that purchases the Wheel Skirts and can improve on the installation and removal process. Providing Hybrid Effects approves of there process and use of hardware. This is one way that Hybrid Effects can keep it's prices lower.

If you have any questions please ask.

    Thanks Franklin

I think all of us here would be interested to see how much an improvement in MPG you can achieve with all of these mods. Do you have any date for that?

    Regards,

    Nikki.

Would mud flaps have to be removed to install the wheel skirts?

And nobody cares about the degradation on emergency braking due to no more brakes cooling ?

that wil not heat the brakes that fast only breaking all the time when your on the highway when its busy at higher speeds( something the prius is doing on its electric motor and not using its brakes at all.) will heat them up so there is cooling to be done.

I think anyone wanting these to reduce fuel consumption will be disapointed.

On one emergency braking (120km/h to 40km/h), I had the brake pads smoking so Yes it heats up pretty fast... after that no more brakes...

Well I had just posted a very lengthily post replying to every ones concerns and Prius chat decided not to remember my pass word and lost the very long post sorry.

Mud flaps would have to be removed as the wheel skirts attach where they attach.

The touring wheels should work but will have to be tested. Weight is probably ten pounds.

To be safe I will say 1/2 mpg increase. There is documentation that wheel skirts and grille blocks do increase mpg.

The wheel skirts will not cause the brakes to over heat, those using flat hub caps have proven this.

sorry for the short replies , does any one know why prius chat will not remember my password??????????????????????????????????????????????

    Thanks Franklin

The wheel skirts will shade the wheels. No seriosly, when the skirts are installed if you look under the car you will see that most of the cooling comes from the inside of the wheel. There is also pleanty of room inside the wheel wells with the skirts installed. The only way you could have heat on the brakes is through and obstcal course or race track.

I like the idea of wheel skirts.
    But they don't look right.
May be they shouldn't be "straight" at the bottom.
Idea is in the attachment (actually only a thin line - I haven't got picture manipulation skills).

Is it possible to ship the parts to Europe?

They could be painted black at the bottom or you could cut them.

The desige is level with the bottom of the car panels.

They will float on a pond and yes Hybrid Effects ships Worldwide.

    Thanks Franklin

    Franklin,

Are the wheel skirts flaired out at the bottom. From the pics, it looks like that they have a lip or something.

How do they attach to the body?
How hard are they to install/remove?

The wheel skirts do have a flare at the bottom. It is not so much a lip.

They attach by drilling 3 holes. The hole at the top is a locating pin and two screws at the bottom. They may be difficult for some to remove and install. After initial installation they take less than five minutes to remove. Hybrid Effects will include two screws and a locating peg with instructions. You can all ways also call 434 384 3113 if you need any help.

The wheel skirts are custom and the mounting method that I have incorporated is very basic and offered as a courtesy to provide some insight into how they attach. I have driven a Prius with these wheel skirts attached according to my method and had no problems.

These are aftermarket fiberglass parts and it is up to the purchaser to accept total responsibility for there attachment methods. Hybrid Effects provides the product.

I am selling these skirts at a more than reasonable price of $150.00 a piece not including paint or shipping. If you would like wheel skirts that are not made of cardboard and will last a very long time and are custom designed and look awesome, opposed to laying on the ground and trying to fab something up that will only last a week or so then Hybrid Effects has done the footwork for you. How much is your time worth?

Considering the effort, materials and labor that goes into each set of Hybrid Effects wheel skirts the price of $300.00 per set not including shipping or paint is a real deal.

The prices I am quoting are introductory prices and WILL NOT LAST LONG believe me. I have been in this business for over 25 years and sell over 4000 Carbon Fiber and Fiber Glass products at Carbon Fiber Hoods and Body Kits by FiberEffects.com. The Prius Products so far are an exclusive product found only at Hybrid Car Accessories by Hybrid Effects.

    Thanks Franklin

    Hi Franklin,

Is it possible to get them without the flare or lip at the bottom.

With out the flare the wheel skirt would have more of a bubble to them. The way it is now is probably the most aerodynamic way to make a one piece wheel skirt.

The problem occurs when you make a wheel skirt that goes so far down on the tire and wheel. But it can be made with out the flare it would just look like every one else's attempt at making Prius wheel skirts. The Prius is not a easy car to make wheel skirts for.

Have you installed your hybrid grille block? Do you have any pics?

    Thanks Franklin
