Anyone ever hear of the saying "Misery loves Company" This guy buys a Civic and you show up with a Prius. Talk about buyers remorse! The only thing left for this A-hole is to try to cut the Prius to ribbons and make you feel bad about your choice. After all you should have got a Civic like he did! This moron is just plain and simple Jealous. He knows he made a big mistake and it's going to be several years before he can rectify it so instead of telling the truth (he made a mistake) he tries to make you feel bad about your choice. Every time he makes a remark just smile and say " you must be right after all you own a civic" Then tell him you were offered 5000 over book for your car by a private buyer and get someone you know to offer 5000 less to him than bluebook! Then discuss it next time you carpool.
Ask him how many PHEV Conversions there are for his Civic. Then mention to him that I just sold my 2006 Civic and purchased a 2008 Pri because I know that eventually the Isralies are going to take out Iran, the Mideast is going to go nuclear, and all oil production is going to be suspended. Ask him how he's going to get to work when there's no gasoline to be had (at any price) at your local station and then mention that you're installing solar panels at your house. THEN Smile and walk away without letting him answer.
HEY! I like my cheese wedge, thank you very much! The car is not overhyped, if anything, it's underhyped! You need to buy one, like tomorrow or something. Then you will understand.
interesting that trolls complain about prius owners using prius forums to talk about prius issues... while not owning a prius themselves typically, i find more posts dealing with prius owners on a prius forum complaining about those that DON'T have a prius AND think nobody else should either...
ah, yes. back on topic. where were we? something about honda civic versus the prius? frankly, i would ask him if he would mind just driving from now on and letting you ride. then, spend the entire time complaining about how the civic will never pay itself off and how there are so many other, better cars on the road. not only that, but think of the fact that the Civic is infinitely more popular than just about any car out there, making your coworker a lazy conformist and not a person that thinks for himself. (this is honestly the reason my wife got a Mazda 3 instead of a Civic... because she didn't want what everyone else already had) my $.02
You got it right. This guy is ultra competitive and looks down his nose at everybody! He really is beside himself when somebody younger, better looking, and less educated surpass' him. He can't stand the fact that in order to beat me, he now has to find a cheaper car that gets better MPG. He's pulling what's left of his hair out looking for it.
Because after installing the Hymotion 5KWH Li/Ion nanophospate battery pack one can drive 40 miles on a charge in EV mode. Without using any gasoline at all.
I picked up the July 2008 issue of Consumer Reports yesterday. "Gas Saving Cars" is the topic. they rate 31 new small sedans. "Toyota Prius, of course" appears a LOT!
