I am looking to get on a waiting list for a Prius, with Route 22 Toyota in Union, NJ. Has anyone had a positive experience with this dealer in getting a Prius ? My only preference with this dealer is proximity to home. Thanks in advance for any recommendations on this or other dealers in NJ.
I bought mine at Toyota of Morristown,Luis was my sales man. they were very helpfull. I went to 2 places on rt 46 (one in caldwell and one near lake hopatcong) both were not accommodating at all.
Got my Prius in Jan. when gas was 'only' $2.75. Bought it in southern NJ at Turnersville Toyota -- part of a huge auto-mall, clean & well organized. At that time, I could choose from several Prii on the lot, as well as one '07 with 4,000 mi. Walked in to look; drove out (4 hrs. later) in a Prius. But it's a different world now -- I don't know if they still have the cars in stock, or whether there's a long wait list. After all, I haven't been back there, and I hope I won't need to ... until I reach 5,000 mi. for oil change.
I have now bought 2 Priuses from Route 22 Toyota, one last year (mine), and one this year (my wife's). We had to wait longer for hers this year (4-5 weeks as I recall in early May) than I did last year (about 1 week, also mid-May), but that was due to the current supply(low) and demand(high) and my wife's color preferences. Overall I'm happy with the dealership, they do pack in 'extras' when they sell the car (low-cost replacement insurance for SKS keys, for example), but overall they're not overcharging MSRP (or at least they weren't back in May). I also like that they don't stick a dealer name sticker on the car, they use license plate frames with their info on it, those are easily removed. My salesman was Barry Rosner.
Thanks for all your prompt replies. I will try Barry at Route 22. I am really looking to book a second one, as an insurance against my first booking in May with another dealer, who is vague on anticipated deliveries !
I made sure to tell my salesman not to put the decal on my car. They didn't I just got a license plate with their name on it instead.
We got ours in Morristown which is on the train line, to which the dealer runs a shuttle service. It helps when you only have one car and have to leave it there. Service there has been great, and their waiting room has wifi.
I got mine at James Toyota in Flemington. Good service people and my salesperson 3 years ago was a woman but I can't remember her name. Got the car at sticker price even though a lot of dealers were charging more. Can't complain about the service. They are very attentive an get surveyed by national for every service call. So, who's to complain?
