Weird sound from wheel AGAIN.. argh!!!

    There was a metal to metal grinding sound coming from my right front wheel when I turn left. I went to a dealer and it was a rock got stuck near a metal plate near the caliper and it makes the plate touch the rotor... they fixed it and i'm glad. One day later, there's another sound coming from the left rear wheel. It's a clicking sound... :mmph: It's not loud but I can hear it at low speed when the gas engine is shut off... click click click click argh! :frusty: Not a big sound and it doesn't affect the drivability of the car but it's so frustrating to have a sound like this on my 08'... anybody have the same problem? Does the prius' wheel/brake catch on debri very easily or it's just me???

    My former car's tires used to pick up a lot of stuff, too. I think the difference is now you don't have engine noise to hide it.

    Is the noise continuous, or does it come and go? If the latter, when is it there (or not there, if that is easier to describe)? Are you certain that you're not hearing the brake accumulator pump, which makes a ticking noise and runs at random times? (This pump can sound as though it is in the wheel well.)

    I have an intermitent noise in my right rear wheel area. It happens sometimes when I start up the car and it sounds like a squeek. Ideas? It only lasts about 5 seconds.

    the noise is continuous whenever the car is moving. the clicking becomes faster if i drive faster.. once i reach about 40mph, it cant be heard mainly because of the wind..

    Various pumps can sound like a fast ticking, or buzzing, or whirring, or a whine, apparently originating anywhere in the front half of the car. Some of them can happen at any time, including when the car is OFF. These are normal. If you hear a noise *only* when the car is moving, especially grinding or screeching noises which change frequency as the car changes speed, or noises that happen only when the car hits a bump, they could indicate something dangerous involving the suspension. If in doubt take it to a dealer for diagnosis.

    Make sure there isn't a nail in your tire. Put on the spare and drive around to see if the sound keeps coming.

    i dont think theres a nail because the tire should've been flat already..

    Bad assumption. Objects including nails can be stuck in a tire without causing an immediate flat. The simple thing to do is go inspect the tires.

    guess what...? the noise is gone! :) thats good.. i'll wait until my next oil change to have it inspected... thanks guys.
