My Garmin Nuvi is "The Lady", as in "The Lady wants us to take the scenic route." Usually just call a car by its model, the Tucson, the Santa Fe, the Prius. hwell:
Mine will be Lola when I get her. I don't know why but my roomate in college always called me Lola. To me it kind of symbolizes something new and different and exciting. Does this mean I'm having a mid-life crisis? Can't wait to get Lola! Lisa
Mine's Yoda, as in To-yota. Someone posted a Yoda theme song to this forum a few months ago, and sometimes my fiance and I find ourselves singing it as we get in the car. Y-O-D-A: yoda! :sing::sing::sing:
We just picked ours up on Friday. Our 6 year old wanted to name her "Speed Racer" but we were able to get him to compromise. So she is named after Speed's girlfriend - Trixie. She (seaside pearl) joins our red audi wagon - Sally. We have also named our GPS's. James and Norah.
I think your 6 year old hit the nail on the head (Speed Racer). I like that name. Hope you enjoy your Prius for years to come and PriusChat too. Welcome. ZC1
The problem is that the darn song is perpetually stuck in our brains...haven't heard it since we bought the car, and we can't get it out of there~
I've named all my cars after flowers based on their colors. Since I have a SeaSide Pearl Prius, I named her Blue Bell the Second, or B.B. for short.
Thanks for your help everyone. After much meditation while placing my hand on the hybrid decal, I came up with a name for my sea side pearl PRIUS. Actually my 11 year old daughter came up with the name......"SKY" Simple, but appropriate. SKY enjoys 87 octane every 4 or 500 miles, and loves to coast down big hills. SKY enjoys the scenery of back roads rather than the hustle and bustle of major thoroughfares. We have already begun to bond, and SKY is learning the English language ,(SKY was born in Japan). Our customs and mannerisms are different than what SKY is used to, but she is starting to get used to the USA way of doing things. I plan on a long relationship with my new friend.
