I'm buying a prius in 3 months and i had two questions. Which package do you think will get the best value with (I want the good stuff like the smart key, but not things like nav and bluetooth). Also I was planning on tinting my windows, blacking out my head/tail lights, and getting black rims. I really like the blue a lot more than the black, but was wondering if it was worth it to get a black one because it would look better with my "mods". And i was wondering if there was anything else i should considere getting once I have my car. Thanks:deadhorse:
Welcome to the site. I don't know the options & colors available for the 2009. Only you can decide what is worthwile but I would suggest the lowest packaage that includes Vehicle Stability Control. Black is a sure bet and Spectra Blue will probably continue. The car is a scratch magnet and the primer is white. Get VentureShield or 3M plastic on as much of the car as you can.
It sounds like you would be happy with a package 2. As for color, get what you like best. Tire Rack has a thing where you can see the way wheels will look on the car, but they don't have Spectra Blue as an option.
+1 on the package 2. But the OP should try the "build your own" option on the Toyota website, there you can see the various packages (OK, there's not a lot to see about the packages, but they tellyou what's in them) and the paint colors (at least for the '08s.) Caution: Most of the paint colors on the site are really true to life. However, the Spectra Blue Mica (or whatever they're calling the jewel tone blue) is NOT. This color is much darker, and more striking in person and appears to change with the light in which it being viewed. The first time I saw one (on a dealer's lot) it appeared almost black. It was late in the day and there was no direct sun on the car. The next time a saw one, it was in the direct sun light and the car was a very bright, but still deep blue color.
If you use a cell phone, the Blue Tooth option would be recommended as a lot of states now are making it illegal to use a hand held phone when driving the vehicle, but with Blue Tooth it becomes hands free thus permits its use.
Definitely. When my wife was looking for her's she checked out the Toyota site and was going to go with Driftwood Pearl. I had seen a few pics of Spectra Blue on this site and asked her if she may like that better. She said she saw it on Toyota's site and hated it. I showed her the pics from here and she realized how unbelievable the color is. She saw 1 Spectra Blue Prius the other day and was happy she changed plans. We got our VIN Friday, going to sign the deal tomorrow, and should have the car within a couple weeks.
