I drove my Prius through Western Queensland last week which is the real bush, lots of people asked what it was as they had never seen one before. I guess they don't get out much.

In a 8,000km round trip I had just one driver act agressively and he was driving a Kenworth car carrier. This jerk passed me in a 40km/h roadworks zone at 80km/h.

I have a friend who just bought an '08 Focus and he claims that people are on his nice person. Similarly even I when I use to drive our Explorer that once a week to keep the seals from drying out I would get that song from Ludacris stuck in my head. Move B---- get out the way, get out the way......
Big vehicles make you want to run people over especially people who make slow decisions.

I think road rage is going to happen more and more being people are seeing bigger and bigger bites out of their wallets everytime they get in their cars.

Yes! You bet there are drivers out there (especially of the big honken SUVs and pick-ups ) who seem to think that my tail pipe is more interesting close up. I've even had a couple cross lane by lane behind me, both back and forth. I do believe those drivers have the idea that the Prius is less 'merrikan than their gas guzzlers are. Most of them a chicken, I believe. I think the Big Bully Vehicles are on the road to make up for what the drivers lack in their lives on the ground. I've had them back-off when I put on my flashers as I travel with them sniffing my tail pipe.

I live in Texas, where your manhood is measured by the size of your pick'em-up truck. You can imagine what it's like here.

I get plenty of dirty looks at the gas station from the mouth breathers filling up their enormous quad cabs. I don't say a word, but you can see the smouldering anger. I've been called an "ecoas$" on at least one occasion. My coworkers stopped laughing at me when oil hit $130.00 and stayed there.

I really don't care. The important thing is that my lifestyle with the Prius has not changed a bit. I drive as much as I want, anytime I want, and as far as I want. I still pay the same 25.00-30.00 or so every couple of weeks. It used to be $20.00 or so when gas was cheaper, so I'm not exactly hurting.

This whole "high gas price" thing has been great for me. I've seen far less traffic, and shorter lines at the movie theaters and restaraunts.

I seem to notice owners of expensive cars acting like "yes, I DO own the road".

Just because you have some bucks doesn't mean you have any brains.

I'm convinced that there is a "I'm going slow; go ahead and pull out in front of me" sign some where on the front of my car based on the number of people who roll through stop signs and lights when they see me coming. I'd remove it if I could find it....

Hey a couple days ago I actually had the opposite happen - some guy in an Escalade followed me for about 15 miles until I turned off the freeway. He wasn't tailgating (stayed about 100 yards behind). I was going the speed limit and I think he may have been using me to pace himself. Not obnoxious. Perhaps he was finally getting a clue by not zooming by at 80+ MPH/8MPG...

Too bad there are not more like this guy - still too many idiots out there.:glare:

I was driving near Uniontown Pennsylvania today and a Ford F350 kept tailgating me. When I stopped at the next stop light he kept roaring the motor. When the light changed he yelled out the window and said for me to buy a real car and get rid of my jap peace of junk. I just laughed it off as the most I could put in my car now for gas is about 38 bucks and he would have to spend about 210 to fill his double tanks and he still won't go as far as I do on one tank of gas.

this is the type of thinking that was prevalent in michigan as i grew up.
these same people watched factory after factory close, Flint turn into a
ghetto, detroit's biggest employer is the city of detroit, yet they will defend
US auto makers to the grave...

old habits die hard. if they want to spend their money that way fine but do
not come crying to us about gas prices... :-|

No but I have found that guy who likes to drive just off to the side of me so his headlights are bouncing off the side mirror into my eyes.
