My favorite character is Detective Lennie Briscoe. Probably because of the actor, Jerry Orbach. He was quite wonderful.

Although it relieves my eyestrain, I've always found it offensive that the female Assistant D.A. on Law & Order is at minimum very pretty (and usually supermodel pretty).

The same goes for the females on CSI who, in addition, usually wear a tight knit top with a low neckline.

... not to mention the 90's British rock band, The Boo Radleys. Am conflicted on this, but I don't think the name is terribly original. Boo Radleys | Find The Way Out

And on that note, there was also a rock band named "Trout Fishing in America" Trivia question: what's that all about??

Law & Order babes, Mariska, Angie Harmon - ok. :p

But Law & Order hasn't been the same since the departure of Vincent D'Onofrio. Now, that was the best 'psychological' drama  that you could find on TV.

Ah, I forgot about Lenny - loved him! Also Detective Green.

It does get on my nerves sometimes how the ladies dress on CSI. They show up to work a crime scene in spike heels and low-cut tops, even if the crime scene is in the desert. Law and Order is closer to reality than CSI, in my opinion. In real life, CSIs don't always work in the dark, they definitely don't dress like that, and they don't interrogate people or participate in police raids or other detective work.

I like Grissom. Did I spell that right? Anyway, I like how he solves crimes.

But on the L&O shows, I think it's a tie between Olivia and Stabler. They are very good at what they do.

The other day I was thinking about couples who hyphenate their surnames when marrying ... and I began to wonder what they would do if they both had the same surname to begin with ... would they or their children end up with a hyphenated surname like Smith-Smith?

I don't think I've ever seen something like that.

You have the DVDs? That must be nice. I think I've seen nearly all of them, but it's probably great not to have to deal with commercials (or to have to fast-forward through them on the DVR).

I think DVDs are the best thing to happen to TV serieses in a long time. They give new life to even the most obscure and short-lived shows (*sob* Firefly *sob*). Not to mention the fact that you can see episodes of your favorite shows when you want, UNCUT (for the most part - there are exceptions) and completely commercial free. I'm particularly fond of The Simpsons DVD boxsets.

I have a close friend who just LOVED the Firefly series. I've never seen it, but, based on all that he has told me about it, I wish I had.

I had never watched the LAW & ORDER: SVU show before I got the DVD. Now I am hooked. The sad thing? Well, seems after I finish with season six, I will have to wait to who knows when to see seven through nine.

I just read in my local paper that Anthony E. Zuiker, creator and executive producer of the "CSI" franchise, and Rene Balcer, head writer for "Law & Order" and co-creator of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" will make Writers' Reel presentations at the International Mystery Writers Festival. The festival is happening June 12-22 in my town, pretty interesting.

You've been swimming a lot lately. We just opened our pool and I can't wait to go swimming.
