It's an awesome color. Most of the Prius' around here are silver or the tan color. I either wanted the Spectra blue or the Barcelona Red.
I saw a Spectra Blue Touring package with the hub caps removed, and the rims chromed...WOW! Looked amazing!
Touring wheels and tires are standard in Canada. I'm now thinking I have touring suspension too. Black may be the rarest Prius color. I think we men often like black, and it's often associated with sports cars and trucks and SUVs. Basically, I don't think most Prius drivers are the types who like Black. It works well for me, partly because I like the rear look better in Black and also because the Prius replaces my Black sports/GT car...
Yeah, I had read about the differences between the US and Canada versions, you have auto lights too right? I think black is really classy on the Prius. I got the magnetic gray, I think it looks pretty nice too.
A black Touring looks a lot better than a black with 15" tyres. Actually, all colours look better with the Touring wheels lol.
I wonder what the difference between the canadian base and american is. I have the package #3 in american (I guess - never really thought about it).
I've been trying to get that question answered here http://priuschat.com/forums/canadia...455-canadian-versus-us-model-differences.html It's in the Canadian section so most people won't see the thread. When I get back from my 1000 km weekend trip to Toronto (in my new Prius of course , I'll start a similar thread in the Tech or General sections.
Hello, Although I initially signed up for Prius Chat in 2006, I (regrettably) forgot until I received a PC email last week. I've now returned and hope to be more active! I have a 2003 Classic (I don't think that there were package numbers then) with just over 100,000 miles. Right now I'm flirting between 54 to 56 mpg while my worst is in the winter where I average around 45 mpg. The best tank I have averaged is 65 mpg but I have only had less than a handful of tanks greater than 60 mpg. I've thought about trading in but can't seem to justify it as I have not really had any problems and my mileage seems to increase and is abit better than friends of mine with 2004s+. I suspect that my mileage increases have been due to increased driver awareness styles but also because I generally drive slower. As a scientist I am always interested in improving efficiencies and understandings so I look forward to interacting with others who are striving to improve their ownership experiences.
I finally got my Prius 2 days ago - 3 months after I started searching for one. It was worth the wait. It's beautiful and fun to drive!!
A couple pics I took two weeks ago after I took delivery. Pretty generic stuff - no special mods. I did install mudflaps after taking this picture.
