    Hello Everyone!!

I would love to hear what some of your driving related Pet Peeves are that just drive you up a friggen wall and wish you could just shout out
    "you stupid F**king A**hole"

I have quite a few, but one is directly related to my commuter parking lot at my train station.

The front parking lot that is right at the entrance to the train station is a monthly parking lot. It is a smaller lot and therefore there is only one lane to drive down. Most of the people parking here back their cars into the space so when they are getting off the train in the afternoon they can run like a bunch of hyenas to their car and be the first person out of the parking lot. They don't want to back up, they just want to pull out and be the first person out of the lot.

In the morning what really gets my goat is when they are taking their sweet ole time to back into the darn parking space and will take more than a minute or two to do this, still cannot back in right, and have to attempt several trys before they finally back in. While they are doing this everyone else that is also trying to park, has to sit there and wait for
Mr. or Mrs I am so important to get their car out of the way so the rest of us can park because the parking lot is only wide enough for one lane of traffic to get through.

They act like they are the ONLY ones in that parking lot and take their sweet ole time backing in, which most of them cannot back into a spot properly anyways.

What makes it all the more irritating is if you have only a few minutes left before the train comes and there is a line of cars waiting for the Asshat to finish backing in..

This really makes me so mad and I would love to give them a piece of my mind one day, but then I worry about that same person doing something not so nice to my car in the parking lot. So I end up keeping my mouth shut...

We had 2 Asshats yesterday right next to each other BOTH trying to back in at the same time and almost backing into each other at the same time. We had fun watching that, I was praying that one of them would have hit the other one,,

Anyone else care to share your driving pet peeves....

Had a good chuckle at that one, Michelle.

A couple of pieces of the puzzle are a bit confusing -- but then, so is human nature.

Ex: Aren't people in a rush in morning, on their way in to the lot? Isn't that why they call it 'rush' hour? Am surprised they have time to dawdle with their parking method.

And, in the PM, when there's a bit more liesure time, wouldn't they be able to simply back out, at a less than frantic pace? Go figure

Peeves here are the tailgating, cutting-off, horn-honking self-absorbed slobs in general. I smile as they go by, which confuses them. After all the mechanized venting & gesturing, we're together again at the very next light.

Still, unless it's a life-or-death maneuver, none of it really bothers me -- when I'm in my Prius : :first:

Certainly I don't have the time to list all, but here is the short list:

    1. PDA/Cell/Texting: Stop trying to kill me and PAY ATTENTION TO DRIVING!

    2. Stop Here on Red: Why can't people read or understand this very simple phrase? Perhaps 1 out of 25 stop correctly.

    3. Turn Signals: Just use them - they are there for a reason - really.

    4. Left Lane Bandits: Why do you want to drive BELOW the speed limit and at the EXACT speed of the guy to your right? Just make the pass already!

I have 786 more, but I'll let them go for now. :D

Yeah,, you would think so huh??, But here in the Chicago suburbs we have a lot of backwards kind of people. So I am not surprised,

Actually, the reason why everyone rushes of the train and the end of the day and actually run to their car, is so they are not sitting in the long line of people waiting to get out of the parking lot as it is by a busy street with only one street light, and they don't want to get stuck waiting to pull out..

I, on the other hand, get off the train last, on purpose so I don't get trampled by the fools running to their car and I take my sweet ole time leaving the parking lot,, I only live a few minutes from the station.

These people are quite comical to watch getting off the train, they also stand up and block the vestible doors about 3 or 4 stops before their stop, so once again, they can be the very first person out of the train, they look like a bunch of race dogs that are waiting for the gun to go off, the trap door to be released and to be the first one after the rabbit.

There is a stop on our line that is worse than our parking lot and people actuallly run full speed out of the train doors to get to their cars.. watching this one day I almost spit my water out of my mouth as I was watching them run.

All of SparrowHawk's (particularly the asshats...) plus changing lanes in an intersection. People who tailgate.

I get peeved when I'm following a safe distance and someone in another lane assumes I've left that space for them. In urban traffic, it's almost safer to tailgate.

People who drive 10km/h below the speed limit on arterial roads.
People who won't overtake but tuck right in behind slower vehicles making it harder for me to overtake.
People who refuse to pas a truck on a 4 lane road. They travel 10 metres to the rear and in the next lane out from the curb blocking the lane.
People who indicate they are changing lanes after they are half way through the manoeuvre. (Adelaide drivers)
People who accelerate to close a gap you are indicating you are going to change lanes into. (Adelaide drivers)

WHy not just let them go in and open the gap again? If they change lanes once they will no doubt either change lanes again or turn off soon.

Soccer mom on the phone in her ginormous SUV, driving like a complete a-hole.

Not using a blinker & cutting me off.

    Tailgating.

Driving well BELOW the speed limit just b/c there's a cop around.

    Seeing a Bush/Cheney bumper sticker.

People who pass me in the left lane, then change lanes into the right lane in front of me, and slow down 5 mph slower than what I'm going - causing me to cancel cruise or brake. Love it! Makes me so happy, especially while they are on the cell phone.

My Pet Peeve is people driving in the left lane impeding traffic. If everyone just stayed as far right as possible and allowed the left most lanes be used for passing there would be a lot less traffic jams. I'm amazed when I travel to Europe that they can move twice as many vehicles on a 2 lane road then we can on a 6 lane highway (this "statistic" is of course a guesstimate).

Turn signals, or lack thereof. I think there is a law in RI AGAINST turn signals.....because no one uses them!

Also, it seems like no one knows how to merge properly anymore. They either just drive right on the highway like there's no one else there (or assume you'll get out of their way....my old truck was much better in that situation that the Prius...heh heh, just try and push me over Mr/Ms Sedan). Or they come to a complete stop on the ramp, nearly causing a chain rear-ending reaction.

I hate when drivers refuse to make a right turn when traffic is clear, and there is no sign saying "No turn on Red".

In Illinois a Right turn on Red is allowed unless there is a sign saying "No turn on Red"

Also, there are a lot of people that will not turn right on red when they sign says "No turn on Red, on school days when children are present". And even though there are NO children in sight and it is NOT a school day some dork will still sit there and wait for the green light to make their turn.

The weather approached 38°C (100°F) today in central California. I'm in my third year of driving a Prius and am very aware that the Prius does not idle. I am amazed when I park and walk to a store at the number of vehicles parked, locked and idling in parking lots! These are not hybrids. People cannot complain about air quality and fuel economy when they idle at stop signs and stop lights and while parked. Crazy.

OK, all of you that live in climates where we have snow, and lots of it,,

I hate it when people refuse to clean the snow off their car and just wipe away one little tiny circle on the back window and pull away from the parking lot and drive with the rest of their windows completely covered in snow.

What a bunch of Idiots!!! So GDamn lazy that they cannot do a couple more swipes with the brush and clean off the entire back window and the side windows so they can see and NOT hit anybody else.

It is bad enough that the weather is awful and visibility is reduced with a snow storm, but then the idiots get in their car and drive it away with it covered in snow..

Stay away from me in traffic, far far away!!!!!

The worst is tailgating .Especially on the freeway ,when its a huge truck that will kill you if theres an accident.
After 35 years ,Ive finally figured out that if I just keep slowing down they will eventually pass.
