For all the environmental wackos out there and the ones that think they might be

Can you post the rules for determining how to tell if someone is an environmental wacko? I want to check my friends and family. You can never be too careful.

OK, that made me laugh.

I can't tell if hunting/gathering is the non-wacko version of an environmentalist, or the bad kind. Or are there ANY good kinds?

 

That comment made me think of Ted Nugent who hunts his own meat. And of course famous for his right wing beliefs and rock music.

I can't stand that guy.

But honestly, if you do eat meat it's FAR better to hunt it yourself. Factory farming is not only tremendously cruel, it's an environmental abomination.

The commercial hog industry alone is one of the worst environmental disasters. Some of the Carolina hog factories put out as much waste as an entire city, but due to loopholes in the law, they don't have to treat it as waste. Instead, they just dump in on the ground, where it causes entire towns to stink, leaks into the groundwater, and it's polluting all the lakes & rivers in the area.
They've actually found new breeds of parasites in the lakes down there from it that look like microscopic syringes, and they eat away at human flesh.
People who used to swim & fish in those waters for years can't even go near it now.

But....ya gots ta have dat bacon, right?

Not yet, but I have heard a lot of interviews w/ him & I have some of his lectures on tape.

It's a shame he has a problem w/ his voice b/c his message is important.

 

I agree. I liked the book and I've attended a couple of his talks at Modesto Jr. College and CSU Chico.

If you like this kind of stuff you'll love Thomas Linzey "When Corporations Weild Constitutional Rights Against Communities" It is long but worth listening too since this garbage happens every day. I've witnessed it in my own community.

 

Come on folks, Is this what you want to do is pick at any little thing you hate and see someone else enjoying? I love Auto Racing, NASCAR specifically. It's more than just driving in circles. Watch it and learn and then meaybe you won't have such a negative view on it.

Nascar is part of a tradition. Founded by Ed Otto and William France Sr. In 1948, NASCAR has become the number one wtached sport in the US and is gaining large amounts of popularity in other countries.

I'm a big Hendrick Motorsports fan, Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson are my two favorite drivers on the circuit.

You take away my racing, I'll take away something you enjoy. Perhaps your car?

But who is your favorite Nascar Engineer ? That is the main problem with racing it seems to me. Its a cult of personality, operational personalities, not progressive achievements. F1 at one time was different, but in the last 5 years they fell into the same trap. Now, with energy recovery, that may be turning around.

And what is with the threats? This is what is wrong with most pickup truck drivers (non-work related) around here. They see driving to work as a game of threat and retreat. Not a the neccassary cooperative endevour required to make the USA a internationally competitive. What is more unpatriotic than a guy with a pickup truck making some other guy late, and pissed off when he gets to work? Who then does a poor job, and then looses his job to China, because they can do it better. Because the chinese worker did not have to litterly fight for their lives, every other drive too/from work? Many companies there are like schools, and run a bus around picking up all their workers, which then arrives on-time at the factory.

Racing is a competitive endevour, entered into by the particpants eyes-wide-open. Driving to work is not, and cannot be a game smash-car. At least not if you love the USA.

 

I think you need to go back to school and learn how to type and use proper punctuation.

 

You should race a Camry hybrid instead. It'll do the quarter mile in the mid-15s, which is over two seconds faster than the Prius. That's not bad for a vehicle that will get 35-40mpg on its way to the drag strip.

 

Chad Knauss. He's always pushing the limits of the rule book (and getting suspended for it).

 

At least he is not ignorant in all other respects. Now add something worthwile to the debate and stop playing the "english 101" card like so many do when they cannot come up with a decent argument.

As for taking away things that others find fun, some people find joy in many degradational activites like murder, arson, and petty theft, witch trials, etc.. These activities are negative to society as a whole and anything that is can be labeled as negative should be curbed in some fashion.

 

Apple computers are Energy Star rated. If you want to become an environmental wacko, I suggest an iMac or a MacBook Pro.
