I called Zaino and was told to use Z-A10, Z-5, Z-6 and Z-7 in that order on a brand new car straight out of the showroom.

Seems like a lot, not to mention expensive. Does this sound right?

    I'd say Z7 first, then Z18 then Z7 again, then Z5+ZFXand Z2+ZFX

Yeah that sound good for starters. And yes their stuff is expensive but the results are worth it. :D

I don't find it expensive given the less product you use, the easier it gets to work and the better the results are... and it lasts for long...

Don't forget to use clay right after a Zaino wash (if you're using their shampoo that is). It's a very important step before pre-waxing regardless if you're using Zaino or not. :)

    my steps were:
    1. *dawn* wash to get off any old waxes dealer may have puked onto the car
    2. Zaino wash
3.clay bar the car until smoooooth. wash again
    4. z5
    5. z6 or the new one super glossy z-8
    6. z2
    7. more z6 or glossyier detailer z8.

You could easily spend a day doing this but if you use the ZFX you can put on several coats of Z2 which makes it miles deep and is great protection for bugs.

    awesome products.

Are the Zaino products only available direct from the company or can these products be purchased in the car stores anywhere, like Pep Boys, Murray Auto Parts, etc..

I'm bumping this because it appears (pun intended!) there are many ways to use Zaino products.

I am encouraging responses from Prius drivers who are using Zaino to tell us what number Zaino products you are using and in what order.

I would like to see a picture of your car too. I think we all would. :)

For the full treatment I start with a thorough Dawn wash, then Z18 (clay-bar), one or two coats of Z5 for swirls and minor scratches as needed, and one or two coats of Z2. If needed, I do a quick detail with Z6 between coats, like last week when I did mine during pollen season. I top it all off with Z8.

If I'm in a hurry or feeling lazy, I'll use Z-AIO followed by Z-CS.

    Here's a pic:

Z7 (wash) Z18 (clay with dilluted Z7 to lubricate) Z7 again to remove Z18 residues then ZAIO or ZPC+ZAIO to prepare paint, then Z5+ZFX then Z2+ZFX

The photo was taken a month after, after a quick HP wash and Z6 + Z8 application.

Prius is indeed a beautiful auto. Thank you all for sharing your baby photo's and magic recipes. Think not this is the threads end. Upload your pics and show off your Prius!

Sheepdog....you are not set up to receive private messages, otherwise I would not direct this to you to in a public forum.

I note you applied a rear bumper protector. I have one ready to go on and want to ask you how you applied yours. I purchased building cement at home depot. It is supposed to outlast whatever you are cementing together. I think the two adhesive strips on the back of the bumper protector will function less than 6 months in upper midwest climate. So....in sunny Florida are you using anything other than those adhesive strips?
