    Hi Chetto,

Yep, wierd. I did a PC search on MFD Repair, and got nothing. But, a search on Google of Hobbit Prius MFD Repair returned this:

Have you talked to dealers and/or Toyota customer service people?
If I were you, I would argue my case all the way up until Toyota give me a discounted repair. Someone should bring a class action against Toyota to make them extend the warranty on the MFD to 8 years at least.

That was what happened when Honda had a high rate of transmission failure. They took Honda to court and the settlement was for Honda to extend the warranty to 8 yrs.

By all accounts, Steve at AutoBeYours is a solid character. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the replacement from him, and it's great that he'll credit you if you ship your defective unit to him.

So much for all those wiseinheimers who (won't lift a finger to pay your bills) say the extended warranty aint worth the $985 ... which by the way, not only paid for my new MFD, but also paid for the ECU controlling SKS function, and a broken wheel stud. So far I'm about $1,000 ahead of the game. Sorry to hear your MFT failed, but defenately get a rebuilt one.

Oooo. OOoo. I have an extended warranty. Haven't had to use it yet but nice to have peace of mind that if my screen went, it would get fixed.

Unless you have a very early 2005 your MFD will never break this way; they re-designed it.
