OK, finally took a pic of the new Pri....had it for 2.5 weeks now. Getting 46 mpg and loving life. Still have to get the tires up to pressure, and waiting on my roof racks for the kayaks. I'll definitely post pics of the racks and boats once I've got everything.
Ok, I'm cheating here, but I was feeling left out... This is not my Prius, but the first one I ever drove and the one that made me fall in love with this car. I rented it from Avis for two weeks, driving between LA and San Fran, and put almost 5000 miles on it. I remember having a grin on my face as I drove north, watching the MFD showing 55 mpg at 70 mph! That was when I knew I'll have to buy one of these when I get back to the US... oh yes it hurt when I had to return it!!
Hi everyone My wife and I bought a new 2008 prius #6 a couple weeks ago. We could not be happier. We just got back from a 1000 mile round trip to Jaxsonville Florida and we averaged about 49MPG. We live in Navarre Florida (NW Florida between Pensocola and fort walton beach). We have tinted the windows, put a rear mat in (that we got on ebay used for $40). Would love to know how to turn off the rear beep!!! Also, how can you make all the doors unlock from the drivers side. Ours seems to unlock all from the passengers??? Also, looking to get roof racks and have read some good info on this site about racks, thanks. John & Cori
Here is my turn... Things are not very efficient here in Singapore. i paid an arm and a leg for my prius. And if that is not enough, i have to wait 3 months for the car to ship from Japan... after 3 months of hateful waiting and grumbling about the public transport system in S'pore.... the car arrived 6 days ago. And the prius that is offered here is very basic. They don't offer any packages, and the Prius comes AS IS and you either take it or leave it. There is no GPS, no fanciful audio system (just a single CD player!), no leather seats. But I stil love my Prius! here are some pics
My brand new 2008 mag grey Prius with package 4. LOVE IT! Here's a pic from my first day joyride to Napa Valley wine country.
My name is Jennie and I'm a Prius *coughaddictcough* newbie. I've officially had my black '08 with grey interior for a week now, and I've been lurking about the forums for at least 2-3 weeks. I started looking into hybrids when we learned that it was going to cost a LOT of money to fix my '93 Jeep (that needed to be inspected this month). So we opted to put that money towards a down payment on a new car instead of putting more money into the 15 year old. It was my first car, though, so I was sad to see it go. But I am in love with my little Prius. I love driving it around, I love how much easier it is to park, I love the back up camera and SKS (even though I didn't want to like that). I'm thinking about getting the bumper protector and mud guard/flap things. I got the 5 piece carpet floor mats, but I wish that they weren't included with the deal, because I prefer the all-weather types. Of course, the carpet ones say Prius, so I like them for that. ;p I'm also considering seat covers, but the prices of the good ones are putting me off a bit. I was hoping for more of a mid-range between Wal-mart cheapies and the $500+ Wet Okole and GT ones. I think that is about it in the way introduction. I look forward to reading and posting more. I will definitely be taking more car pictures soon. I'm envious of those of you with the great artistic car shots. I was just in a hurry to show off my new car, and then I've been to busy to pose it for better shots. ;p Oh yeah, so far I've put about 160 miles on the car and it's at about 43.2 MPG. It's been slowly climbing up there since I got it, and I'm working on putting the things I've read about here in practice.
