Are you really being serious? If one was to install our stiffening plate, front strut tower brace and skid plate this all totals 24 lbs or put another way a weigh increase propotianal to the vehicle is aproximately .008 percent!!

Let's say someone weighs 150 lbs and then another person that drives their Prius weighs 174 lbs, is there a substantial difference in FE? The answer is no.

The benfits that our prodcuts provide the Prius FAR outway the miniscuile weight gains. For a car that handles better, is more stable and protects the front engine components, I would say that 24 lbs for these three seperate parts combined was great achievement and was my goal.

All of the design work that I have done was to make the part as strong and light at the same time. This is where CAD modeling comes into play and the computer is able to help design these parts for maximum stiffness and reduced weight.

At 60mph in warm weather, AC off, no wind you should get (according to Wayne Brown's Prius Simulator) 61.75mpg with 200lb total load.

Make that load 224lbs and your mpg under the same conditions plummets to..... 61.64mpg.

That's actually a pretty cool calculator Evan. What is interesting to know is that the surface the car is driving on whether it be a nice smooth newly paved asphalt vs semi rough concrete would have a much higher effect on FE. So would the wind speed/direction, grade the car is driving on, weather (both temperature and humididty) tire pressure, btu of fuel content...etc..etc... In other words, there are many of other variables that will cause the FE not to be consistent.
