Sound like my favorite sport: drag racing. Once the prius is broken in I'm going to see if it can come close to my Corvette's e.t. of 13.06 sec. Well, maybe within 4 seconds of it. Anyway, it will be a blast! So, what is the switch sequencing for turning of the traction control so I can heat up the drag radials?

Interesting how there is a bit of a generational gap - older racers are into the 'analog' concept as Pinto Girl and patsparks have described. The younger generation as patsparks comments are more into XBox and the like. In a former lifetime, I had both HO and 1/32nd scale slot cars. I had the external resistor controller with the custom braking feature, custom wound low resistance motors, and, and, and.... The closest thing today is in R/C racing.

However, I have recently been turned onto Scalextric slot cars.... Got to find a place to permanently put the track....

Probably best, especially around here, to just do it and ask for forgiveness later. :p

Those are some cool slot cars. They've come a long way since I was into them. But so have computer games - I wouldn't trade even a ping-pong table full of AFX track for an xbox-type simulator. I've got a couple of extra monitors, and some steering wheels I intend to hook up in the basement. Yeah, I know, some kids never grow up. :)

I bought my son a steering wheel for his driving games then built him a dashboard and floor type unit to mount the wheel and pedals, then he got hooked on Guitar Hero.

i don't think our love of cars is going anywhere. and i do think i really want a badass performance type car for motorsport use when we're both done with school, when we've reached a point where we've earned it. :)

I thought you spat the dummy and went? Finished crying yet?

Jimmie I'm going to assume you had trouble reading the thread through the tears. I am interested in Hill Climb racing where 4 cylinder cars rule, just like rallies. Have you seen many V8s getting good results in rallying? I'm also sharing the car with my 15 year old son who is learning to drive.
I also think owning a big car just to tow a race car 4 or 5 times a year would be stupid but I have a 6 cylinder classic car which I hardly ever drive because it's a collector car, I can use 5 times a year to tow a small race car. I don't have any reason to own a truck, I don't carry big stuff around, I'm not in the building trade or anything so why would I want a truck? Some really stupid people own trucks and the biggest thing they ever put in the back is a carton of beer, I'm not going to be one of those clowns 360 days a year.

I know what I want to do and you have no idea because your reading comprehension is not too good, sorry for you.

I have the telescope already. Anyone looking for a judo outfit suit a 13 year old? Only worn twice.

    Not necessary apriusfan...

I'm not forcing any ideas onto anybody here to buy a truck unless you have a use for it and you haul a lot of people around. I'm all for you and the Prius. Thats cool because you enjoy what you like and I enjoy mine as well.

Now, Where I get hot is when we all of a sudden have these imposing laws to make it harder for an individual to buy a truck. It's gonna hurt a lot of companies that rely on having trucks for work use.

    Anyways, Back on topic.

NASCAR is about to start and my guy Jeff Gordon is fast in that Chevy Impala.:D

In the long run, laws like these will make us all better off. But, yes, they might cause some problems in the meantime; I don't think anyone is suggesting otherwise.

No, It's rights violations. Kinda like this so called new law about banning incandescent bulbs. What I do in my house and what I use in it is none of anybodys business.
