I recently fit 10 feet PVC tubing in the Prius with the hatch closed. It needed to flex a little bit, but there was actually about another 6 inches or more of room left.

It may not work so well with lumber because of its stiffness, but most lumber is 8 feet long anyway.

:p That's awesome, tell him to get right on it.

No, you're right, it's a gate. There was some fence to do to the left.

You know, I'm not too sure. I don't think it was close to 810, probably more like 400. I drove slow for sure though, I didn't want anything bouncing around and scratching up my new baby ;)

Last weekend, I got a 6 ft ladder in the car without disturbing either front seat. If you put in legs forward the legs will straddle the passenger seat back, and the hatch closes just fine. I also love throwing my bike in the back, and leaving the rack hanging in the garage. Pretty amazing car. I'm convinced that the Prius is the ideal car for 80-90% of people who think they need a big-nice person SUV or wagon to haul stuff, if they also care about mpgs, and the environment. Its no off road vehicle, but how many "real" SUVs venture any further than the Walmart parking lot?

That's a lot of Junk in the Trunk!

Fence looks great, I'm looking to replace an old hedge, are you for hire?

Absolutely! If you pay for my gas (which won't be much) and lodging I'll drive cross-country right now and get that pesky hedge out of your way. I'm actually 100% serious :)
