Great story earthworm! Good on ya! Gives me hope......maybe I shouldn't keep the Prius in the garage all the time. I did run into a woman who works at a business across the street from my office who's kinda hot in Costco about a week ago, and she was quite friendly and asking about my Prius, seemed interested. In the Prius, that is.... She's not married but I'm pretty sure she has a steady boyfriend. Oh well. But, getting back to the initial premise of this thread which has been hijacked numerous times, I definitely would not say that owning/driving a Prius is a negative from the standpoint of "making an impression" on a woman. Other factors are, however, in play.

I wish I had a great story about meeting my wife because of my Prius but they weren't around when we met. It is a great story but I'll save it for another time.

BTW, I thought the desk decoration discussion was interesting enough to start a new thread called "What's on Your Desk?"

Funny enough I have had far more women ask about the Prius than any other car I have owned. Only smelly men ask about the performance cars. Three times now I have left a party with a woman I didn't know prior to meeting that day, to go for a test drive in the Prius.

I must add I am married (impressed wife 26 years ago with my Mini) so a test drive of the Prius was all that happened and we returned to the party, however for a single person the ice would have been broken.

Haven't wanted to say anything in this thread because of its almost comically shallow nature, but here we are (beats doing my taxes):

As props, magnets or conversation starters go, the Prius is a pretty good one. For straight men, I'd rank it #3. Behind #2 - walking or going to a park with a dog. But far, far behind #1 - walking or going to the park with a baby or toddler.

Actually, you can combine #1 and #2 by taking a puppy for a walk in the park.

The ultimate solution would be to combine a puppy with a convertible. Maybe a Porsche convertible and a Min Pin puppy. :car:

Attaboy, earthworm! There's hope for us old guys yet.

I used to take the kids in a snugli or the stroller everywhere I went. NOW you tell me. And I've wanted a dog for ages, but that was so it would take the wife for walkies. I may have to rethink that. :D

I really don't think any different of a man driving a Prius than any other car. It might be that I see so many (I work in a Toyota building) that I'm desensitized to what car someone drives. What I do notice though is if the car is clean and what mods it has. Then I check out the driver. A great smile goes a long way with me. Now if there was a priuschat sticker on the car too... I'd have to give a  because men who drive Prii and who are also on priuschat... TOTALLY HOT!!!!!

It usually works better with 1 kid. 1 kid can be like flypaper. 2 or more tends to scare them away.

Yes... long-haired man in Prius is definitely hotter.
After all, my DH drives the Prius occasionally, and I think he's HOTT. :p

But, yes... I think that a Prius is a sort of conversation starter.
I've had men ask me about the Prius at gas stations... and I'm not hot.

And on the subject of strange objects in cubicles, I once had a stone skull on my desk (freaked out a co-worker.. go figure!)

1 kid can be a nephew/niece, which makes you a sweet guy. 2 kids is usually a dad, perhaps on visitation weekend, which isn't as attractive. Go figure.

Puppies are cute, too. I like the puppy idea.
