Hmmm, time for another hint?

 

The link between the two movies(Navarone and the one this Dam had a role in) is Harrison Ford.

Yes, but that's not really it's name.

Funny thing is I drove by it like 15 times on multiple trips before I realized it was THAT dam.

So technically its the Cheoah Dam which is one of the Alcoa Dam's in the mountains of SW NC/SE TN.

The movie was the Fugitive in the scene where Harrison Ford jumped off the dam into the water.

If you follow Rt129 a bit north to where it comes into a cross road with Rt 28 that is what is known as the CrossRoads of time and one end of "The Dragon". Which is motorcycling and sports car heaven. 318 turns in 11 miles of decreasing radius turns that are all banked. I'd love to see how my Prius did on it, but if I'm going there again (been 5 times) I'm going on the motorcycle again. The Cherahala is also an amazing 50 mile long road with beautiful views that eventually brings you to Tellico Plains TN. This is an are I suggest going into as it is the cusp of the Smokey Mountain. If you need a place to stay in Tellico check out Hunt's Lodge. If you do, go into the main pavilion and look up, my name is on the ceiling I helped them build it when I was down there.
